Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Grinding up unused pills with coffee beans is not a good idea, unless the entire mix is disposed of immediately and permanently. Otherwise, anyone who decides that they want them later need only brew a pot of coffee with the coffee-pill mix and drink to their heart's content. The problem would be in that they would not know how much of the drug they were ingesting and could OD much more readily, than if they still have the pills handy.
I don't worry about flushing unused pills, because most OTCs and pharmaceutical are excreted through the urine as it is, so they end up in the water treatment system either way. Just not as much if they have been ingested first.
Just my 2 cents worth on the matter.
I loved the morning posts. Someone usually would post a link to a song or a cool "youtube" scene.
This has been a really hard week for me. New type of pain was so high that my husband was trying to force me into going to ER. (That's not happening) Yesterday the pressure behind my right eye was so bad, it felt like it would push my eye out, really bad vision, then the entire right side of my body started going numb, but was painful. I did a bit of research and realized I needed to go back up to full strength on 2 of my meds. I started that last night and finally this afternoon the pain and pressure started to slack off. Hopefully it goes away.
Anyway, JC, I am sorry that you are having to go through so much with your daughter. Once our children hit 18 we can only offer advice, they make the decisions for their health and we try to deal with their choices. Its never easy.
I hope if you are up to it, that you try to start a morning check-in again.
RE: Pain Meds disposal. In my state there is a specific place that you send the meds. It is posted all over our pharmacies to ask for the info. My doctor's office just drops them in the red box disposal. Anytime I needed I could even take the used needles up to the doctor's office and they were put in the red box for disposal. I guess each state is different.
Wishing all a peaceful day and evening and may your pain be as low as possible.
Hugs-RJ
