Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

I was up almost all night. Insomnia again. I knew I had to be up b/c my hubby is bowling in a tournament today. I was so filled with anger over his twice a week leagues that I was literally infuriated that he had signed up for this tournament. Usually, Super Bowl weekend is MINE. He takes our son home to his mom's and they have a nice long weekend. But damn this bowling crap!
So I was in THAT mood and I couldn't sleep. Finally at about 8:30am I fell into a light sleep, only to get up 2 hours later so he could leave. I was shocked to wake up without severe pain grabbing my foot from all sides. I guess b/c my medication was still in my blood stream b/c I only slept 2 hours, I woke w/o problem. I took a quick bath and saw that my foot was back to normal color.
When hubby left I decided to do some light cleaning, then got into laundry and even scrubbing the floor! I emptied boxes of cardboard (recycling comes tomorrow) outside and it was THEN that I noticed the weather. Instead of 30 degrees and snow, it is sunny, no snow, a light breeze and just gorgeous. No wonder my RSD isn't flaring!
I took advantage of this weather and foot condition, and got a LOT done. Not as much as I'd like but I do have a 2 year old to watch. I DID hurt my back a bit with the kitchen floor and carrying too much laundry. But it's not so bad I can't stand it, nor is it bothering me TOO much yet. And maybe it won't! If so, it was my own fault.
The thing is, I was SO upset about today, so dreading it b/c it's usually MY day to be alone, once a year, that I didn't put it into perspective. I have a healthy son, a gorgeous son who is my life. Instead of saying "woe is me, I have less time to sleep" I should've thought, "I get more time with my son today!" And now I wonder, WHEN did I get so negative?
In any case, we had a lovely day which is likely to turn into a lovely evening. My house is cleaner than it has been in awhile and the windows are open (In February in Michigan!) to let in the fresh air. I'm having fun with Jaden and letting him choose his favorite activities and movies. (Okay, so as much as I love Lion King, it's starting to wear on me, but it's HIS day too.)
And honestly, it's been a fun day! So the cleaning wasn't fun but necessary, and I DO have laundry to finish, but we have had fun! I am tired and will sleep when Hubby returns, but I am not going to be a witch about today. I put myself in his shoes for a minute and realized how much he does. I'm gone almost a week every 28 days out of town, and he takes over. He also takes over each afternoon after working all day. He DOES do a lot more than most men, and while I wish he wouldn't CREATE so much work by being so slobby, he really is a good guy.
So I have to say, I had a surprisingly good day today. I know it is only 3:45pm but it really has been fun. My son is so truly special, and he'll only be 2 for a few more months. So we're doing special things like make popcorn and watching movies and playing games and puzzles and books. Despite all my worries (which never leave me) I had a great day! My RSD is reacting to the warmer weather and allowing me some fun.
It's a good day to be alive. :)

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

Marci
