Going back to the Hospital

Hello everyone Just wanted to let you all know. that I am going back to the hospital My hands are all broken out. and so are my legs I am also itching. horribly and My stomach is hurting. really. bad I hope its not an allergic reaction. to the pain medicine That they gave me for. My MRSA Infection will let you all know. what I find out.

I had an epidural when I was in labor with my son,and believe me, it's well worth the temporary pain you feel from getting it.

I think it may be a great idea for you- you seem to be allergic to many narcotics, and this will by-pass the need for it. You may be allergic to the preservatives in the pain meds. I found that I was allergic to the preservatives in methotrexate, and when I changed to the preservative-free one, Voila! No more problems. They can also give you DuraMorph through the epi which is preservative-free.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, but I'm glad they don't think that this is due to the MRSA. Llady is absolutely correct that a rash can sometimes appear as the MRSA starts reaching your bloodstream. And that is so, so bad.

if i had allergic reactions to most pain meds and an epidural was just about my only option for pain management when i was in a great deal of pain, i'd go for the epidural. or try a different pain med that definitely doesn't contain codeine, in the safety of the hospital, because there they can monitor you for a time to watch for an allergic reaction, and then you know what they may be able to send you home with a prescription for if you don't react, and if you do have a reaction then they can take care of it there. i'm allergic to dilaudid, and it was scary to react to it, but i'm glad i had the reaction in the hospital, and with as much pain as i'm in normally, i wouldn't let being allergic to one thing keep me from trying other things, though it does make me cautious about trying other meds that are related, even though so far i haven't reacted to any of them. i do hope you find something that helps you.
