Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I hope you can figure something out so you can still go
But I'm more worried about the hotel. I tried calling when I felt this thing crawl up on me and right before it hit, and they kept saying they were sending me to front desk and then it would ring and ring. So I've sent them an email and PRAY they don't charge me $1000 for the 4 nights. I'm doing this job as a free-lancer, so if I lose this money, I will NOT be reimbursed, PLUS will have no story to tell.
What irks me is that I do about 2 of these types of jobs a year- where I lay out the $ and am reimbursed. Usually it is paid for and I do the job. But this is a lesson learned. Next time I lay out my own money I am buying trip insurance! I advise people all the time to buy it but b/c I'm not usually making my own plans, I didn't even think about it.
On the other hand, I did get some crackers and some soda down w/o it reappearing so I'm a bit better. This time last night I couldn't even text! In fact, I could barely make it to the bathroom. My hubby was in the guest room (my RSD is still pretty bad and no WAY I want anyone in my bed when I have a stomach bug) and I was SO out of it that I was half-dreaming things.
I didn't feel up to even trying to get out of bed until around 11pm tonight and realized I'd lost an entire day. I went to bed at around 1pm Monday and got out of bed at 11pm Tuesday night. I still have to think about cleaning the bathroom- not a pretty thought- but can't even THINK about it till my stomach is ALL settled.
I sure hope the hotel cooperates. I mean, did they want me to show up so sick that everyone caught it? Half the problem is the language barrier. But I guess we'll find out soon enough. I had SO many problems with this trip, I almost wonder if I wasn't meant to go?
Hope you feel better soon.
(((Hugs)))
I hope you can reschedule.
Drink lots of liquids and get some humidity in your house if possible.
Boil some water or something.
I know it is next to impossible when you don't feel well.
I'm still feverish and achy but now that I've had a bath & got some water in my system I'm much better than I was this time yesterday. I had the oddest dreams, and spent much of the time half asleep. I just was so busy this year I didn't get my flu shot, which is usually the only needle I agree to, and that is only b/c my son has asthma & I want to protect HIM. I'm sure my needle phobia had something to do with it too.
One thing is for sure, the memory of laying on the bathroom floor, unable to move after puking my guts out (no better way to say it!) will work perfectly next year when I think I'm "too busy" for a flu shot!
Seriously- this flu is no joke. My hubby's back at work but still not 100% and he's about a day and a half ahead of me. My ears are still ringing, my fever is still around & I'm pretty weak. At least my legs aren't cramping anymore (I dehydrate easily) b/c THAT drove me nuts. Hubby says his were cramping so bad he was freaked out.
These odd strains of flu can be scary.
I was SO worried that I wouldn't keep my meds down, but thank God for the phenergan! Each time I took the MSContin I took a phenergan. I did throw up a few breakthrough pills but I managed to keep the main medication down. And my hubby (who almost NEVER takes meds) actually took some motrin & immodium. You KNOW it's a bad flu if the hubby's actually taking something for it!
I'm slowly washing sheets & comforters, and thanking God for our wonderful babysitter who anticipated what we'd need & washed extra blankets and towels. I HATE that I missed my trip, but considering how hard this was on my body, I KNOW I did the right thing. Wouldn't have made it to the airport, let alone beyond that.
I kinda feel like a wimp, though, as I feel like I kick CP's butt most of the time but a flu bug scares me to death. I guess it's just that I've gone so long w/o a BAD bug that when I finally got one, I'd forgotten what they were like. Definitely one for the record books. In fact, don't recall one this bad as an adult. Just hope it is almost all over!
