Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I am more of a answerer then a poster my self. I am sorry to hear about you leg and especially the fact that it is going into the other leg, I have nerve damage in my left leg and it is not as bad as yours and it drives me crazy so I know sort of what you are going through.
I have these days when I just want to chop it off, it will hurt and the only way for me to get it to stop hurting I have to hold it still but when I do that it twitches and my toes move side to side and it is the oddest feeling but it is the only way to make it stop hurting it takes about a half hour for it to settle down.
Much love and understanding,
Lisa
i'm so sorry that you're dealing with the pain that you are, but so glad that you've come to this forum. it's no joke, there really are some good people here.
i'm just learning about your condition from what you're telling us, but the fact that it mirrors itself onto the other side of your body makes me wonder if it has something to do with RSD? this is a disease that i have, which can be cause by a plethora of things (spraining something, hitting your thigh, a spider bite, you name it ... sometimes even nothing) ... you deal with what ever it is you have, but then it causes such damage that RSD then turns up as well, and one of it's common issues is that your pain then mirrors itself on the opposite side of where it already is on your body ...
please forgive me; it's almost 5am here and i feel like i'm making ZERO sense. hopefully you can make out some of what i'm trying to convey - have you ever heard of this, or looked into it? just my two cents. either way, i'm glad to meet you, and hope to get to know you better!
take care!
xoxo, misa

I am in the first phase ( thats what I call it when they don't know why I have something or what its called really ) Right now they just said that it is nerve pain that I am feeling. I am glad that you have finally seemed to have found the right combo and that it is working for you. Hopefully you will be able to walk without your cane soon. That would be a day to celebrate, I think.
I am hoping that soon I will know what is going on and be on the road to the right combo too.
Hugs and prayers to all my CP Buddies,
Beck
Only because the pain sounds familiar, have you ever been tested for RSD aka Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy?
I know with nerve pain and other diseases we can feel the same type of pain but since I've had RSD for 11 1/2yrs from an auto accident that caused it, I at least have to ask.
I hope you find out what is causing this so you can be treated properly and very happy you found a Godsend doctor as that is very important.
Welcome to DS. I know that you will find yourself in some really good company of helpful people who truly care. I'm new too and just wanted to say hi.
