The last time I visited my PCP, we adressed 2 of my many health issues I have been dealing with in the past 6 months.
Having been working none stop for almost a year, and putting all these issues on the back burner, I was put on sick leave by my PCP, and we are slowly dealing with these health issues one by one.
When I saw my PCP, I asked him if he was authorised to send me for scans ect...,
if he had it in his budget ect... boy I got his attention immediately, nothing like challenging your doctor.
Don't get me wrong, I get along with my doctor, he knows that I'm involved has a advocate for hep c patients, and know I love medicine, so he takes me seriously.
He then asked me how I was feeling with the depression, and pain I was experiencing before he prescribed my the oxycontin 20mgs.
I told him that the meds do take most of the pain away but that it doesn't touch my sciatica nerve pain at all.
He then prescribed me an extra pill a day, which gives me 20mgs x 3 daily, along with the continuence of my antidepressant paxil, 20mgs/daily.
Well I'm happy to report that I have been feeling great, and no more pain from the sciatica nerve.
In the meantime, I have 5 different appointments for TC Scan for my lungs, sciatica nerves, breathing testing, my case for the lung issue has been transfered to Ottawa, to a pulmonologist ect...
I am happy to be moving forward with these manners, and finally taking care of myself instead of others like I always seem to do.
I am greatful to have a great doctor who takes me seriously, and to have such a great support group here at DS, and all of you guys here for your great support, and you Doug who helps me anytime when I need answers.

This morning I have the first of my many appointments to go to, I am getting my lungs tested, to see how much strenght they have.
I know for a fact that my left lung is very damaged, so I'm sure the results won't be normal, but it is expected on my part.
Got to go...
