The only thing the Fentanyl patch did for me was give me nausea and vomiting. Didn't help my nerve pain at all. I recommend you try it on your days off.

I'm on the Fentanyl patch, and it works GREAT for me. I didn't notice ANYTHING other than pain relief when I first started using it. It took a few times before I realized it was going to work, The first patch didn't really work that well -- these DO have to build up in your system. I change mine every 3 days, and after about the 3rd patch, I knew these were going to work for me. They don't relieve ALL my pain, but they have worked better than ANYTHING I've tried in 26 years. I also use Methadone for breakthru pain. That works great as well.

They do NOT screw with my head at all. I noticed nothing with that. The Methadone makes me sleepy.

I hope if you try these that they work well for you. If you have problems with them sticking, call the manufacturer on the BOX, and they will send you COVERS at NO CHARGE. Those will keep the patches ON even thru showers, etc. Make sure you call them as soon as you get your patches cause it could take 2 weeks to get them.

We're ALL different. I tried it and got horrible headaches and sick stomach. Doc said it's similiar to morphine so that's why I guess...I get sick on morphine. Also make sure you are tolerant on opiods before starting it. (see the drug insert/manufacturer insert - you can get this from the pharmacy). Hope it helps your pain!

Actually Fentanyl is STRONGER than morphine. If you read up on it, it will tell you that. Maybe that's why it works well for me, cause morphine doesn't.

Hi Honor, i agree with Lee it has to build up in your system. If you are in severe pain and put one on it probably will not work. I do not use them anymore because of this. My pain is very severe and will not respond, but i have tried the suckers also and they are great. Hope this helps.

Ive never heard of meth for breakthrough, do you take it everyday? my doc said it would take up to a week to work and to keep on reg oxy and norco( i havent decided or not to take methadone) since its not a shortacting I didnt know it was used as a bt med, learned something new!

They have a nice advantage of steady release and blood levels 24/7. Even SR preps have bumps in the road that Duragesic does not. Caution is needed as it is deceptively potent.
