Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

The symptoms for Rocky Mountain Spotted fever don't show up until 2 - 4 days post tick bite. The symptoms for Lyme disease don't show up for 3 - 30 days post tick bite.
If your mom dug around with tweezers or something trying to get ticks off then there will be red spots and they might be a little sore. You don't have symptoms of either disease. I'm not going to post those symptoms because I know you and what you do...
If you really have pain and need to see a Dr. go to the E.R. otherwise trying to get attention...this isn't the way to do it; if your upset and stressed out for some reason...you need to call your therapist.

Just wanted to let you know a little info regarding ticks, in the states it says there are 8 different kinds depending on where you live. If you go to Web Dr. MD it will tell you what to do precisely, or tick bites. I am paranoid about ticks , once I get one I go crazy searching and have to have a real good hot shower. Then I sprinkle myself with either lavendar oil or eucaliptus oil.
Ticks rely on blood and they have the potential to transmitt diseases. some people do have adverse affects from ticks they can cause nausea, vomiting , headache , and fatigue, some can cause dizziness and paralysis. I suggest you make sure you put your clothes in a Hot dry , so that if there are more they die in the dryer. If possible place a garbage bag over cushion of couch where you sleep . Make sure to cover the area with a sheet. But sleep on a different blanket. .
My heart goes out to you .. I hate them in the summer for those two months I wear pantihose to prevent them from getting on me. Thier little feelers get caught in pantyhose. So they cannot walk up your legs to bite you.. Take care. Drop me a line if you need to talk. . but please watch how the site of where the ticks came off to see if you got the whole tick and if the color or size changes. or if you got it all. I am glad your seeing a doctor. Please keep me posted. good night, I hope you can rest, . We have a non-emergency number you can call and talk to medical professionals, I am not sure if you have that there Isabee.
Tomorrow's Memorial Day so I doubt your Dr.'s office is open, you'd have to go to an Urgent Care or the E.R.....going to the E.R. for ticks seems a bit extreme.
And it's not that I don't care, I'm usually the one who tries to help you out when you get in a jam... but there is your history to work around and you've been posting about several things lately and then dropping them, and each time you say the same thing..it's very scary, your very worried, etc....and then there's the things you've been telling people behind the Boards. You and I go back a long ways and I've tried to explain to you many, many times that when you don't tell the truth it's hard for people to believe you....I guess I"m just there.
You can't have Lymes or Rocky Mount Spotted Fever yet, they can't even test for it yet....so worrying about that is pointless. If your in all the kinds of pain you say your are then go to the E.R., your Dr.'s office most likely won't be open on Memorials Day. You can also put hydrocortisone cream on the tick bite spots to help the redness and itchiness.
Tabby whatever's going on with you, I hope you feel better.

This is the information my son received when experiencing tick bites. I really hope this helps with your anxiety.
Tick Bites-Unfortunately, the tick bite is usually painless and remains that way even after the tick stops the blood meal and falls off of the skin. Later, the bite site may develop itching, burning, redness, and rarely, localized intense pain (some soft tick bites) in some individuals. A few individuals may be sensitive or allergic to tick bites (tick saliva secretions) and develop rash, shortness of breath, swelling, numbness.
He was allergic to the saliva but completely recovered with some benedryl and given ibuprofen for the aches. All 6'7" of him recovered with a few days.
I hope this puts your mind at ease until you can see the physician.
Joanne
Hope the doctor can see you soon, and everything is better soon.
SORRY I DID NOT REALIZE IT WAS A HOLIDAY IN THE STATES WHEN I TOLD YOU TO SEE YOUR DOCTOR. I ALSO SHOULD HAVE SAID IT TAKES WEEKS SOMETIMES MONTHS FOR ANY PROBLEMS FROM QUITE A FEW TICKS. MAYBE THE BEST THING TO DO IS WAIT AND SEE THE DOCTOR AT THE WALKIN CLINIC...I HAVE TO AGREE WITH KAT ER'S ARE FOR EMERGENCY CASES EVEN HERE THEY GET BOGGED DOWN BY CASES THAT NEED NOT GO, .......BUT IF YOU DO HAVE EXCESSIVE PAIN AND SWELLING THEN GO.
BUT BY EXCESSIVE I MEAN THE TICK MARK IS 2 INCHES IN SIZE,AND RED AS A RED APPLE.
IF YOU GO TO THE ER WITH A SMALL BITE THEY WILL LABEL YOU AS A FREQUENT FLYER. THAT IS NOT GOOD, BECAUSE THEY DON'T TREAT YOU SERIOUSLY. I AM NOT SAYING THAT IS CORRECT BUT THAT IS THE WAY THE SYSTEM WORKS.
THEN WHEN YOUR SERIOUSLY ILL SOMETIMES PROBLEMS GET MISSED.
TAKE CARE AND SEE A REGULAR DOCTOR IF THINGS LOOK WORSE..
I ALSO KNOW THAT IF WE AS HUMANS GET TO UPSET ABOUT THINGS THAT WE CAN GET, RASHES,AND ITCHING AND EVEN A STOMACH ACHE DUE TO STRESSS. I HAVE EVEN VOMITTED DUE TO STRESS.
TAKE CARE ISABEE
That will be fine. You did not happen to keep any of the ticks did you?
If so, take them with you.
Hugs to you. I know I already gave them to you on chat, but big hugs again!!!
