Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
help...the fact that you are even working and in pain, to me, is
an incredible accomplishment, and I truly admire you, along with all
the others here who are also doing this. But what I want to really say is
that you really need to give yourself breaks... its hard enough to work
without putting pressure on yourself to clean, etc. I hate that my apt.
looks a mess to me, but there are many days I just cant clean, even
though I find it mentally therapeautic! Everyones advice is spot on..
do things that calm you down and make you feel positive, even if
its just sitting etc, and reading, crafting , lighting candles or incense
and buying yourself something small that you love( for me its
flowers). I am sending you the warmest hugs and wishes today!
Your Friend, tooth
I have a stool at work, so I can sit, but I do think I will go 4 days, except that means 4 -6 hr days, instead of 5-5 hr days, ans some days I can barely work 5 hrs!
I also work part-time, and for me the sitting down is the problem, since most of my issues are in the lumbar area. Do you have the freedom to take a short walk, or a sitting down break every 20-30 Mins or so? If you do, maybe you can start doing that, and see if it works.
When I first started working again, I was doing 4 and 5, 6 hour days, and that took a toll on me, I spoke to my friend/boss, and told him that I can only do 3/6 hour days, and that has helped me a bit. Of course I have days that I don't want to take a shower, get dress or drive to work, but then I think of the bills and I just give up and go, is not easy when we are in intractable pain and have to work, but it is something that some of us have to do, right?
Sending blessings and hugs your way, hang in there!

I worry about our vac coming up soon, harley riding, Iam borrowing my friends " butt pad" to see if that helps! If I hurt we will just have to rest at the cabin. I wish I was excited to go.
sunny: I agree about the shopping thing, i bought a hair pretty yesterday and some crazy paisley( i call hippy) fabric.
I'm glad you are posting and a part of this group. It's a great place to be for support and information. Though I am extremely sorry to hear about what you are going through right now. I wish I had a quick easy answer of how to make your life better.
From your description of your symptoms it sounds like you have Endometriosis, am I right? In my 30's I had a severe case of Endo. and it took four surgeries for me to finally get better. I am sure that proceedures have improved greatly since then, I am 55 now, and so if your doctor is urging you to have the operation I would seriously think about it. I know that Endo. just gets progressively worse the longer you wait. The surgeries gave me my life back and allowed me to watch my son grow up so I am very grateful.
You hang in there my friend and if you would like to talk feel free to IM me at any time.
Hugs, Cathy
I read this article about pain and how when women especially do things that help the family financially how it helps their spirits The things that help the most is when they do things that go way back in time like when women grow their own vegetables and pick them and put them on the table, mending socks, collecting honey from hives, the things that a person does physically and task like that improves mental health along with physical health .
I hope that makes sense I wish I saved the article as it was a good one.
