The American Pain Foundation sent me an email saying there is a forum going on for the pros and cons of opioid drug use and the FDA wants input and being who we are....we should input.
I hope this path gets you there or to make it simpler you could visit the American Pain Foundation website and sign up for action alerts. They are an advocate for us.
Here is what I wrote to the FDA:

I broke my back in 1993...I had 4 back surgeries BUT worked till November 2005...I am the exception...not the rule

There are those of us, in this country, which respect and abide by our PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTORS ORDERS...then there are some, unfortunately, who do not.
I have had my meds stolen from my home & I have had individual ask to buy them from me...I NOW CHOOSE NOT TO DO EITHER! I now hide my medications in my home, if I go somewhere the meds go to in my trunk locked, sometimes in the blaring heat...
No one knows anymore that I am on a pain regiment...these are things I HAD TO LEARN BY MISTAKES-perhaps you could spread the word about these things?

The people who tragically died from opioid overdose....unfortunately-chose and I pray for their families to heal...but I should not be punished.
There is a "MOLE" in the system...in other words: who is selling this stuff? How are they getting it? Who is responsible for the leak?
#1 My PM Doc DRUG TESTS me quarterly to verify my med levels are there...so he knows I am taking them. If I did not show the correct levels he would no treat me! Are others doing this?
#2 Who are pharmacy's hiring? I have it on good authority that in "certain" areas of Atlanta you can buy "certain" meds, AFTER HOURS, from the "closing" employees! They need to have more stringent guidelines on who works at the pharmacy's! Check the surveillance cameras!
#3 There should be several CHECK POINTS for deliveries of drugs as well...
From the producer,
to the warehouse,
to the distribution centers
all the way to the pharmacy...
JOB CREATION!!!! and would make it more difficult for these SNEAKY idiots to get their hands on the stuff!
PLUS: Just do a simple "BACKGROUND CHECK" on the persons hired for the positions...it cost $25!
#4 The DEA AGENTS need to be cracking down on the people in the warehouses and pharmacys wasting their time with the little fish...
Please do not punish me, a 43 y.o. disabled woman, for the stupidity and incompetence of others as I DID NOTHING IN VIOLATION OF THE RULES!

Just KNOW that they cannot test levels, all they see are what meds are or are not in your system, if doc said he can test levels he is being dishonest with you...Nobody, not even crime labs have a test yet for levels, not real important, just factual. Be well
