Area Doctors Indicted In Alleged Scheme To Sell Prescription Drugs

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) Three area doctors have been indicted in a scheme to sell prescription drugs for cash.
The indictment alleges Dr. Alan Summers of Ambler ran a medical clinic on South Broad Street in Philadelphia known as the National Association for Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment. Dr. Azad Khan of Villanova and Dr. Keyhosrow Parsia of Ridley Park worked for Summers.
Authorities say the defendants sold Suboxone and Klonopin to patients and many of these so-called patients were drug dealers or addicts.
The indictment also says Summers gave false information to health insurance companies and sold over $5 million worth of drugs over the course of the scheme.
The three are charged with distributing controlled substances, health care fraud and money laundering.
Its about time they get some of these fake Docs off the sleep and shut down their Pill Mills, which are operated as so-called Offices.
It's bad enough for people to get the courage to quit the drugs their doing, but then your going to crap all over their courage and fear and sell drugs out of your Clinic, that is just so incredibly disgusting and wrong.
If you need to detox from something please consider doing it yourself...it will be hard but it will not kill you. I have a great checklist that will give you all of the things you need to safely Detox at home. A few of the folks on here have used it and they did very well and didn't have severe withdrawals. Detoxing from one drug by getting addicted to another is not just illogical, it just rarely works. And convincing yourself that being on Suboxone for 5 or 10 years is better than being on Narcotics or Opiods is just a mind game. Suboxone is just as bad and it has a laundry list of dangerous side effects.

You are so right about substituting one addicting drug for another. Withdrawals and detox are not fun or pleasant, but when they are over with you don't have to fear them every day. Taking medication slowly on a decreasing dosage level can work for anyone without having to take other drugs or go inpatient.
The Mental Health Clinic that I used to work in also worked with Addicts that were detoxing and we had strict Rules about using "new drugs" to detox off the current "drug." I've literally seen people that have taken Suboxone for 10 years, that got on it because they were told it was the best way to detox off whatever drug they were addicted to....but 10 years later their still hooked on Suboxone and still a drug addict, per se....but in "Recovery." Its a racket and a joke. If your going to get of drugs then get off drugs, that's the only way to do it.
It is very important for people to vet their Dr.'s and research them very well before you get involved with them....you should always know your Docs education, experience level and places worked before you see them. And any good Dr. worth their sheepskin will have a CV posted on their webpage.
