I might be kicked off for this, but Im willing to risk it. Its not worth it to keep my mouth shut. I am so angry at this article posted by Dr. Orange.
Migraines have been stigmatized forever as just a headache and it has been a hard battle to get the medical community to understand just how painful and how hard it is to treat this disease. Just the other day, tipper1207 posted a piece about suicides and it said that half the chronic pain suffers who tool their lives were from head pain. That alone should tell you something of the extremity of the disease.
Then out comes articles like these, from respected doctors who confirm clinical trials who say all that is needed for ACUTE migraines was TYLENOL. Well, then, how stupid are all of us migrainers who have had our lives lost, our years of suicidal thoughts, and our countless hours of pain that we were too brain-dead to have ever tried Tylenol. Of course we tried TYLENOL!!!!! And so many other toxic harmful other drug that hasnt worked either.
This is a serious and painful disease and shouldnt be treated with such offhanded ignorance as it was 50 years ago. Im not going to recite the numbers, we all know by now that it is real. Just as real as your pain is and how offended you would be if your doctor told you to just take Tylenol.
Im sharing my frustration today, because to hold it in make it hurt more. Today I woke up in pain and took 3 TYLENOL with CODEINE. It is the codeine that is making the difference. The Tylenol is only the carrier.

Since I have been on suboxone I have not had one and I have heard people who take tramadol has seen a big decrease in them.
If this Cochrane clinical trial was done by a dedicated Migraine Society, then it would have validity because it was done by professionals who knew about the nuances of the disease. It should have stayed in obscurity where it belonged and not made valid by a doctor. This study is be like me gathering up Type one diabetes and Type two Diabetes and giving some of them Aspertame and some of them honey pills and see what happens. Then we will call all Diabetes patients the same. Their problem isnt so bad. Its just sugar.
