Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I myself as you know don't sleep very well either.
When I sleep more deeply for a few hours I do dream and remember most of them when I wake up but that goes away as I'm up for awhile.
I do have pleasant dreams that I do remember and once in a while a bad one but they are mostly good and I have noticed that I am not in pain when I am in these dreams.
Best wishes to you to start getting some better sleep with comforting dreams!!!
Hugs
Cindi
I am sorry you are having problems with your sleep. Sleep aids often make dreams more vivid but it could also be a side effec of the Trazadone. Check with your doctor if this continues.
Cindi-- I'm also sorry that you have sleep problems. I think most of us with chronic pain has interrupted sleep and that interferes with our dream patterns frequently. I hope you find some relief soon.

We have something in common- nasty dreams that piss us off. When Tim and I were first married, I'd have very vivid dreams that he was blatently cheating on me. And it was always a woman we knew and worked with. I would wake up so angry I'd actually punch him. lol- he didn't know why he had been punched but just went with it.
Back then, I was on high dose prednisone, which is notorious for causing vivid dreams.
It's funny, but now I have dreams in which Tim is mean to me. I just had one the other night. First dream I remembered in a long time. It was when I didn't have trazodone.
And it's really funny because I was just thinking about dreams this morning. I had a dream (very short) in which Conor was trying to convince me it was Saturday, not Friday and to go back to bed. I woke up to the alarm going off. I had to ask him if he had said it but he didn't.
I've read that you usually only remember dreams that you have right before you wake up. You do dream constantly in REM sleep, but you don't remember those. I'm not sure if the bad dream wakes you up, or you have it right before your body wants to awaken.
You're not alone!

So sorry you are having trouble sleeping. I know for myself I also wake frequently during the night and have trouble falling asleep from the pain. You are not alone in your suffering hun. Gentle hugs...
i think the negative dreams stand out b/c they're more emotional. i had a fairly stressful one last night that stands out. i vaguely remember others but i was half awake.
if you want to try to remember you can put a pad by your bed and jot down a couple of words...we usually wake after a dream cycle. i wake 2-4 times a night and hopefully get back to sleep. i may do that again.
hugs!
