So this came up in another post, and I thought it was well worth actually discussing. How many people get asked to share their medications? How do you deal with it?
I have been lucky enough to not have many people in my life who are looking to get high. Most people I know recoil from the concept of opiates.
I do have one friend who wants me to 'share' all the time, my tattoo artist. Though at least she is looking for the pain relief from a bad back from years of bending over doing careful work. For her, I manage to keep my meds to myself by pointing out that I don't have enough to keep my own pain under control, let alone share.. at which point she then tries to share her pot with me. Only the fact that I get drug tested gets me past that one.

I find it weird that in my house, I have a small bin next to my desk that holds my vitamins and all my Rx meds. Some of those meds I get in 3 month supplys, so some of those bottles are quite large and hold quite a few pills. Oh, it also has OTC pain meds like Aleve and the OTC Tens unit I use. Really it has all the meds in it that are used on a regular basis. It even has the dogs meds in it. My family are in that bin all the time, but no one would touch my pain meds.
Yet my friend expressed worry that she could never have that sort of pain meds lying about in her house full of teenagers... Different houses.
