Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to reply to your post.
...This is one of those that is just so sad..and unfair..
And so on..
That it kinda leaves you speechless.
I'm so sorry doesn't seem adequate..
Or at all helpful..
And, I don't knw enough about the " systems" in NY to be of any real help.
Do you mind saying what county you live in?
( that might help those of us who research a lot help you to find some assistance. I know from your profile that you're quite capable of doing your own research..
But..hey..the more minds working on a problem..
The more likely solutions are.
( one wold think/hope)
In any event, my thoughts and heart are with you
( as I'm sure many others here)
(BTW...that's kinda my aetheist way of saying I'm oraying for you.
Hugs

The other suggestions here such as contacting churchs, Salvation Army, etc are all options. I have put a link below for your state with info regarding homeless resources. Don't wait until you're without a roof over your head. Sometimes, there are things that can be done to prevent someone from being on the streets. Be sure and have all of your documents verifying your situation before you contact anyone. If you have been approved for Section 8, ie your income & resources are within the criteria, contact your caseworker at your PHA and let them know the situation you're currently in. I have also put a link for Affordable Apartments. The neighboorhoods may not be the best, but they are better than sleeping on the street. Also, since you're 62, you may be able to go to an apartment community for the elderly. You don't have to be 65.

I am waiting for the social security appeal before the judge, but in the meantime I'll be receiving my first early social security check (turning 62) in February.
