Well looks like I'll be hanging out at the house all day Thanksgiving day instead of the plans I'd made and that so bums me out!!!
Last night the tell-tale bumps came out on my arm, hip, and knee/shin...a nice brand new MRSA Flare Up just in time for Turkey Day, this sucks!!! So now I'll have to spend 2 days in then ER getting my Vancomycin IV....Oh Joy
Now I can't go to the Women's/Families Shelter facilities and help prepare and serve Thanksgiving Dinner in the morning. And god I love doing that so much, this would have been my 3rd yr in a row. Watching those cute little kids see that full plate of yummy food with big round eyes, they eat so slow, like they want to take as much time possible remembering every single bite, every single taste. It is such an awesome experience. We pass out the coats that we've been collecting in the community and OMG you'd think you just gave that child a brick of Gold, they are so happy just to get a coat. They're such awesome kids and just go with the flow as to the way they live right now....its amazing how resilient they are.
If your looking for a Volunteer Project to get into, this is an easy one. I've done this at the Ronald McDonald House in Town also and that was fun. It's just passing out food, washing dishes, meeting/greeting and getting one heckuva blessing in return.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I treated myself and my daughter with tea tree oil after the initial
Course of antibiotics and have no had an outbreak since we decontaminated the skin. It took 6 months for them to stop coming back. I also tested negative in the nares.
Idk if it will be good for you - the tea tree oil can be toxic I hear.

@Bill: yes MRSA can be fatal if it's not caught and treated. How a person wouldn't catch it, is beyond me, because you basically go from a hot red area to a very deep hole filled with really gross stuff that hurts, more than you could imagine. How someone could not know that needs to be looked at by a Dr., I've no idea. My flares "sores/boils" are always in the same place and I know when they start right away. I get treated with Muprocipryn ointment, Oral Septra antibiotic, IV Vancomycin, and they slice, drain and pack them. So, yeah if you didn't treat the infection, it would spread throughout your body and you could die. There are only 3 antibiotics that affect it and Vancomycin is the strongest.
But some people get it and are cured of it, my son doesn't have it anymore. His was cured in a couple months.
In one case when I worked in hospital the huge ulcer in guys hip was as big as my fist about three to four inches across....and we needed to debreed it from the inside by getting handfuls of the gunk out of it with saline and 4x4pads that we wiped out the ulcer with....ugggh
I am glad I no longer work in medical field...I worked as an orderly for year on med/surg unit of small hospital while I started nursing school back in 1982.....I dropped out of nursing because I couldn't see myself as being sound mind enough to help people and was afraid I would hurt or kill someone....went on to become a teacher!
I hope you all are having a good thanksgiving. I am sad today. This is the first thanksgiving I have had in 20 years without my little cat. She used to love to eat the turkey liver, the heart, and the white meat in gravy. The house is so empty today. Hugs to everyone!
@jeremy - OMG I would die if I had a scalp issue, I'm a chronic scalp scratcher...when I think I scratch my scalp, so that would drive me insane. Sorry you have to deal with that pain all the time.
