Well spent most of last night and the wee hours of the night/morning in the ER. I felt the Kidney Stone coming on Wednesday night around 10:00ish....hoped it would just make it's way down and pass.....Yeah Right, when does it ever work that easy for me. lol
So spent the night in the very nice E.R. at UNC where the Dr.'s and Nurses are generally very nice and attentive and know me by name, because I spend wwaayyy too much time there.
Got sprung around 4:00 am. with a stack of instructions and RX's that would help most...of course my "made of crap" body doesn't generally do things the way of the norm, it has to fly by it's own rules. So, now off to my Docs office for different drugs and hopefully i'll get this dang thing passed today at some point. If not then it's back to the hospital for a CT to see what the hold up is, if its too big and is stuck somewhere or if it's just being stubborn and refusing to pass without the aid of modern medicine.
I've always equated Kidney Stones to Cats, they have their own snooty lil personalities, do not follow anyone else's Rules, and tend to travel in their own sweet time.
They suck and cause way too much pain...and I am about wore out with all of it.

it was very painful to have the stint....it made me feel sick.....
the other thing the urologist gave me KlorCon which is a potassium stuff I think....but since I have taken that I haven't had any more stones pass....but I did have the kidney full of stones they said from CT scan....they also told me they did not want to do another CT scan because they did not want to give me cancer from radiation exposure....scary...
I had a kidney stone when I was in my early 20's. I was diagnosed with a bladder infection initially which seemed to not clear up. It went on for about a month with some pain in my pelvis and my back and some blood in my urine. One day I went to the bathroom and I swear my urine looked like pure blood ( ofcourse my memory could be off.. lol ) and then the pain hit. I called my husband ( who was my b/f at the time ). I had stayed home from work. OldCP.. that pain was worse than any kind of labor pains I had with either son. I think if I had had a gun I would've shot myself to put myself out of my misery!!
I know how horrible it is. I ended up in the hospital for 3 days waiting for the dang thing to move. It didn't so they went in and took it by ' basket extraction'. Things sure have changed since then haven't they?
Thank gosh I've never had another one and pray I don't!

Yes, I ended up passing 2 stones. So that's like 5 stones passed in the last 11 months....really, really sucks.
Gall Stones are much bigger than Kidney Stones, I have a small vial of Gall Stones from when the took out my stone filled Gall Bladder. I also have a small vial of the Kidney Stones they had to surgically remove.
For whatever reason my body likes to make rocks! And if someone told me I had to "pass" a Gall Stone, lol, yeah, I think not!
Yeah I had to have some surgically removed a few years ago, was in the hospital for a few days. The surgery didn't hurt, I was knocked out. The stints they put in hurt almost as bad as the kidney stone pain. And when they pulled the stints out, that was just plain torture!

I am glad you were able to pass this one and hope you have some time before you have another to pass. They are miserable little buggers!!
