As we all know, chronic pain is a conundrum of crappy things and feelings ranging from the most obvious --PAIN, to anxiety, depression, loneliness, fatigue...the list goes on. And I certainly know that chronic fatigue syndrome is a completely separate struggle from chronic pain, and the fact that we all suffer from chronic pain is as true as the sky is blue but I am concerned now that the pain isn't my only struggle and that chronic fatigue syndrome might very possibly be another thing I am battling. For those of you that truly do have CFS, I'm very interested in your stories. I know that many of the challenges of living with chronic pain (as I mentioned above) do in fact overlap with characteristics of CFS, but I also know that this syndrome can't be taken lightly and doesn't go hand in hand with CP or anything...but the degree to which I feel this never ending exhaustion and fatigue, both mentally and physically -- among other things, has truly led me to be concerned that there might be something beyond just there chronic pain for me.
Is chronic fatigue something that I could realistically be struggling with? Or am I just experiencing very exaggerated secondary "symptoms/side effects" of my chronic pain struggle? Please help give me some insight and further knowledge before I finally share these concerns with my doctor(s). Also, please understand that I am not taking this lightly and I have the utmost compassion and admiration for those of you that do live with CFS and I respectfully ask for your input, expertise, and experiences. Thanks so much for your time everyone!

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

What I learned in 2012 was, I really did not know what fatigue was really like until I went through 6 weeks of radiation for Breast Cancer (after having a Lumpectomy). The fatigue was unexplainable , and like nothing I have ever experienced. And, believe me I can be exhausted and unable to move.
But, that's how I knew I did not have CFS.
But, for you, definitely bring it up to your Doctors, as it may be another piece of your puzzle.
Take care!
Sorry, I just wanted to clarify...did you mean that chronic fatigue syndrome is the most along side CP? Or were you saying that depression and fatigue are common with CP -- kind of meaning that this is just normal to feel because of how taxing chronic pain is on our bodies/minds/spirits? (I don't take offense if that's what you're implying...I certainly consider that too, trying not to be dramatic or burrow more trouble...just genuinely concerned at this point that what I'm experiencing is more than "normal" at this point).
Does my question make sense? I just wasn't sure whether you're suggesting that CFS is a possibility or if you think it's probably just all part of this wonderful experience with CP that we have all been gifted with (yes that was totally sarcastic...grrrr)
thats why people with depression feel pain even with no obvious cause i suppose.
Maybe google that as I could be wrong and not giving advice :-)
