Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Smoking/Vaporizing even low THC strains affects the brain more than the body in my opinion as an ex Marijuana user.
Anyhow, enough of that. I do think you should talk to your doctor about the possibility tho. I'd hate to see you have your morphine taken away because you wanted to try it. I had a NEW doctor take away my Opana prescribed by another doctor that left because I didn't quit smoking CIGARETTES fast enough in the 15 days he gave me so doctors do some really crappy things when we don't follow THEIR rules. That'd be my only suggestion. Make sure you have their support or they can ruin your life. It happened to me.
(((HUGS))) - I hope you can try it and that it helps your pain.

Like you, I'm on morphine (immediate release) and don't want to increase it. I'm also on a Pain Contract so MMJ isn't an option as long as I'm on the Contract - it's considered an illicit drug by my current health plan. They do urine tests (and pill counts) occasionally to check up on us.
Maybe someday pain management will be available, in whatever form, to those of us who suffer daily. Until then, all of these rules and regulations just make our lives more difficult.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

I thought it was an odd reaction and some websites suggested other varieties might be better. I think they said sativa. Anyway, from what I've heard the MMJ pharmacies have varieties for every ill, so I kind of wish I could find something that would work for me and not make me high. I guess medical marijuana is coming to New York, but they said it would be dispensed at hospitals. I wonder if hospitals actually would like to become marijuana dispenseries.
In my state of Idaho, marijuana is not legal.
Because of that, pot is being run illegally here.
Maybe some of these people have good intentions to get medications to people with Chronic pain. I learned that often this was not the case. I learned that harder drugs were being transported and sold by the same people. Drugs like Meth, among others.
I do know CBD has many uses. My sister is a Nurse and told me that so far the only type of CBD allowed by doctors is for Stage 4 Cancer treatments, not Chronic pain. Sadly it is just making the above problem worse. Keeping it illegal in Idaho is hurting more people rather than helping them in my opinion.
Some do believe it will cause more addicts to THC, the mind affecting component that most people use it for. It makes it more difficult to plead for legality in my state unfortunately.
Sorry if I am intruding. I am not a member of this group. But I am a member of the Back Pain group so I do understand what Chronic Pain can be.
Has anyone else experienced a negative reaction form this?
If you live in a State where MJ is legal, and you use it, then you travel out of your State and get caught with it in a State where its not legal you will be Cited or Arrested for having it.
They do not care that it's legal where you live. People need to remember this when traveling, it's not like legal pain meds where you can just travel around with your prescription bottles.
I can tell you that I have yet to find one that works for any real amount of time, but I am one that if I have 5mins of relief then I am happy. CBD is expensive, but for the most part it is worth it. The main reason for CBD is for relaxation, anxiety, and some depression, for pain relief it's not that great. Living in a state where there is no type of MJ allowed, it is hard to experiment. I have a hard time with MJ because it makes me awake, alert, and causes my nerves to go crazy. I also get so sick from it, and it isn't worth it to me. You definitely need to experiment with things that will work for you, because there is no two people the same. Good luck, and I hope you find something that will help.
