Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I think things have settled down but trere will be times of clashes. For the most part I think we're OK.
Ignore,ignore, ignore.
David.
Thanks, David. I appreciate your kind ways.

If you can take what you need and leave the rest, it helps with facing those in the world who do the same things.
Then there is the wonderful ignore button. What a lifesaver that one is!
Glad that you are here!
Sunny
Pain, I understand too well.

Smile (sometimes I get a good laugh at some of the foolishness, better to laugh than frown. I don't need the wrinkles. LOL). Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

So, dear newbie, please know that the vast majority of us are wonderful, kind and compassionate people who suffer from similar ailments. Like someone said, take what you need and ignore what you have to in some threads.
I have not been active on this group because I was scared off by someone's words, but now realize that this is a good place to share, too.
Welcome to DS, and continue to reach out when you need us. We are here to help and be supportive.
Peace,
Pinky
This is an active group - more active than many and there is no moderation (even though they said we would get one we haven't as yet) so people just post whatever they feel like. Sadly many who are in pain tend to react - even over react at times - to things that are posted which makes a problem.
And then of course there are those who are drug-seekers and come on here to find ways to get more drugs out of their doctors (with info about pain problems posted here) - those people make it hard for those of us who do have genuine pain to get the pain meds that we need to live a somewhat average life.
Then there are those who come on here and want to push their ways of doing things. They tend to post large volumes of material they get off the internet about "miracle" cures - most of which are just snake oils to part you with what money you have left after paying for your doctors and meds.
It is hard to sort out the genuine from the crackpots here. the majority are genuine and over time you get to know those who aren't. And things are pretty good at the moment - there tends to be eruptions here now and again when people clash - for now it seems pretty peaceful on the whole.
Hugs,
Toni
I do have to agree that the good far out ways the bad.
Take what you need and leave the rest.
we are a mixed group of people and we will have times when we don't always agree and those are the times to just ignore things
Welcome to the group.
Hugs & Prayers,
Mary
You are a great asset to this group and I believe that when we have more honest and caring people on here it sort of pushes the bad out and you will come to see that after they come on here and create a shit storm and then they leave after the havoc with no worse then wear and we are left here to pick up the pieces and when the good go because of it, it leaves the ones that want to stay the only ones loosing.
Like someone said take the good and leave the rest, there is no way to change it so I dont want to say it will never happen again it unfortunately will happen over and over again.
I just try to shake it off and keep on going
I'm here to stay and will definitely practice my 'ignore and move on' skills! lol
I can't type much more at the moment as my meds haven't kicked in and I'm in some pretty bad pain. More later...

I have just recently returned. For the time I have been a member the good has far outwieghed the few clashes that happen.
I'd say 98% of the members are here for the right reasons :)
You will find amazing support here, and people just like you that really do understand.
Enjoy
