Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I'm so sorry your boss had the audacity to call you and spout lies and such to you. Fire you over the phone?! VERY unprofessional, very immature, and very angry. He sounds like he doesn't know how to handle his anger and lashes out at people. I'm sorry you had to go thorugh that with the pain on top of it.
:( Sending you hugs, please let us know what happens. If I can be of any help, please let me know. Even if it's just to vent, you can reach me here, etc. I"m so sorry you're in this position. Your boss sounds like a total.....wait, I can't say what I think he is here! :)
(((((((((hugs))))))))))))
my boss starting making those hints to me. we've been working together and friends for 5 years. she actually made a pretty loud hint right in front of my staff. i knew then it was time to quit. i had some money saved and i was ready.
it's not the same when you need the job and get fired over the phone. very, very unprofessional... and i do wonder if it was legal...
God Bless
To nurseliberty, I've checked into FMLA before and there aren't enough employees that work there. BUT, I did contact a lawyer friend of mine. In fact, he is a very powerful labor law attorney so he is getting me started on filling out the paper work to file charges with the EEOC due to the discrimination of my disability. Even though I am not labeled by a doctor as disabled, ( although I have been Dx with chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis ) and am not currently under SSD benefits, as long as my illness has no known cure and effects me everyday, I fall under this category.
I will most definitely remember FMLA for the future! That would be absolutely PERFECT if I need time off due to my illness!!
And don't worry, I have "filled in the blank" many times already of "what I think of him"!! LOL!!!!! :)
And chipchip, I think you might be right. I believe I remember it's called "at will', which means he can make up what every reason he wants as to why he fired me. BUT, my lawyer friend said to ignore what he may say and continue on with the process. He said that "once you win this" that I am to call him and that is when he will be needed. Also, things have progressed since I was Dx and started to have many problems with pain and having to see so many doctors. That's when the harassment began. And seeing how as I stopped drinking alcohol due to taking pain meds, I remember WAY more than HE does. He! He!
It's a good thing I have 180 days to file this. The questionnaire is a bit long and has a few "involving" type questions and have to be careful in how I approach this. I mean, I just tell the truth but I don't think I can include things that I think happened rather than experiencing or witnessing it. I don't think I can give "2nd-hand" information. Am I right? Well, it's not like I don't have time to do this! LOL!!
I have a plan and I will try and represent the principle of it all as best I can. I am extremely engaging in person and can grab an audience. ( which is why I had so many regular customers come when I was working!! :P )
But any-whoo, it's late, and I need to at least TRY and sleep.
Thank you all!!
