Haven't been sleeping well and today was a rough pain day. Not so bad I couldn't handle it, but worse than normal. I feel so bad for my 2 year old who doesn't understand why Mommy is not playing with him. I got kinda snippy this afternoon and when he just wanted to play & I was SOOO tired, I told him to sit on his butt and stop being rough. He was hurt, saw the lower lip come out but hubby got home and took him for a few hours.
Hubby went bowling, and I felt bad for how I'd acted earlier and made Jaden his favorite food "Pop Pop" or, Popcorn to the rest of us. So I'm sitting watching tv while he eats and something on tv made me tear up.(When I'm low on sleep I get weepy but never in front of others.)
So Jaden is loving his popcorn but looks at me right as the tears slide down my cheek and he gets up from the table, comes over, climbs up, hugs me, pats my back, kisses my cheek & goes back to his little table and popcorn. Then he looks up and waves. SUCH a perfect Mommy Moment!
No matter how irritable I'd been earlier, my son still loves me. And what he did was SO sweet! It amazes me how my heart can melt and my problems seem so small when my 2 year old son is making Mommy feel better.

I also learned that I have to be more patient. I'm not used to having Jaden around 24/7 b/c I work in the afternoons (at home) and usually get to bed early. The past month we've been together a lot and he's been so cuddly. The thing that REALLY got me was patting my back. I have been patting his back when he wakes up cranky or when something makes him sad, and he caught on.
He was really sad when he woke up today and I held him and patted his back, and he stopped crying. So when he saw me crying, it was TOO sweet that he wanted me to feel better, even at the cost of leaving his popcorn for a minute. Then checking on me and waving- it was truly one of life's better moments.
And thanks for saying how cute he is- he's adopted so while I have nothing to do with it genetically, I can agree without bragging, LOL!
Now, if only Mr. Handsome would go to bed! ;)
