" Wow, glad I found this forum on DS! I can relate, I have midgut intestinal malrotation presenting in adult life and congenital duodenal adhesions. I had surgery 6 years ago at the Cleveland clinic. They performed a Ladd's procedure. I have never fully recovered. When I wake up every morning I am at a pain level 8 until I am able to go to the bathroom sometimes once, other days maybe 3 times before the pain starts subsiding. 3 hours of hell and then a consistent level 4 pain. By evening before bed I am at a level 1. I have 2 loser family members who are drug addicts. I don' t know if they don't believe me, or they are jealous. I will tell you I received private long term disability from the company I worked for, I also receive an adjusted amount of SSDI. What I find ironic is everyone thinks we live on easy street. I wish I could give this shit to them for 2 weeks and watch them cry like little babies while I call them liars! I know that probably sounds terrible, but only 2 weeks! Lol Normal people don't get it! Ted "

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Anyhow, unfortunately, like GB said, we can't change them or how they perceive us. We know the truth and I've learned just not to react to those type of people (which is REALLY hard for me 'cause I'm a red-headed Aries). Although I do have my moments, of course, haha.
We haven't met yet, so I look forward to getting to know you.
The hard thing is that what you are describing is the "invisible illness". Normal people can not understand when they see you at night in low pain, then in the morning in high pain. Nothing is broken, bleeding, or distorted so to them you could not be sick. Add the stupidity of druggies on top of that, I wouldn't waste my time trying to explain.
We are here to support each other because so many members have invisible illnesses. The sickness is real, but to Normals, if they can not see it, you must be faking. So sorry you have to deal with that crap. l hope you find the support you need here. We have a wonderful group of people.
