This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
been down with back pain for ages. Anyway, he went to a gym and
grabbed the bar and hung from it, and started doing this everyday.
It wouldn't work for every kind of back pain, but it was something different, and it changed his life. He wasn't selling anything -- if I can find the article, I will post it. For me, there is nothing like back pain.I had it several years ago for several weeks, and I would have tried most anything to stop it.
I went to an "alternative" chiropractor - no crunching - and immediately got some relief. He used this push pen-like device.
I think they all have one. I immediately got some relief.
Someone else will have better info.
Hope you're doing better very soon.
Gravity is the enemy!
You say you can't afford your meds, not sure if your using insurance or not, but have you ever tried asking your pharmacist for the cash price with whatever discounts he can find. I use a major chain pharmacy, don't have insurance and take between 13 and 17 meds a day....and I pay way less for my meds than people with insurance do.
You can also go to the manufacturer's website for most medications and get discounts or coupons based on your income.
There are many ways to get your meds into a price that you can afford, but you have to do a little 'footwork' to get them.
You say the last time you went to the doctor they didn't tell you that you had scoliosis or that you didn't. Did they do any tests or imaging? That is the only way they would know for certain. How long have you had this pain? Scoliosis is not usually painful unless you have gone untreated for decades. It really is important to find out what is causing your pain so that you can treat the problem properly. If you can't afford a doctor is there a teaching hospital or clinic near by? They can do a basic diagnosis and then can often get you in for inexpensive or free treatment.
Back pain no matter what the cause is miserable. I wanted to ask you more about it to try and help you. In your heading you put it's like a boomerang. Does this mean it starts in the front and radiates to the back? Just wondering because there are other conditions that can cause this type of pain. The others have had wonderful suggestions so I don't have a lot to add except perhaps describe it more if you wish,,,,what time of day is it the worst, is it sharp , shooting, stabbing, dull crampy, radiating from a point to another, worse when you reach or bend or is it electrical type pain? Just trying to help. (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))
i dont know whow to describe it asside from ouch
I too..suffer from severe back pain, due to arthritis, degenerative disc disease, and spinal stenosis.
I am overweight, and I know this is part of why I have so much pain.
Even though you're hurting, try to get exercise. It may hurt, but in the long run, it's better for your back, to move around and not lie down a lot, and give in to the pain. Exercise will help you feel better!
Even though you don't have a pool, just a short walk, several times per day.
I limp thru it, and use my cane, but I try to move around several times per day, and ice my back.
Hope you are feeling better. IS there a free clinic you can go to, to at least see what they can do for you?
