Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Good luck with that.
God Bless
There are over the counter meds you can take for sleep, i.e. Melatonin, Valerian Root, and Diphenhydramine. And a cup of chamomile tea before bed can help also. If you have pain meds to take at bedtime, I'd take them about 30 minutes or so before you go to bed, as they do take a little while to work. As for the leg/back issue, I cannot sleep on my back, I broke 2 Vertabrae in my back a few years ago and although healed well, I've not been able to sleep on my back since. I also have bad knees, 15 sugeries between the 2 and bad hips, so although I sleep on my side, my knees can't touch as it puts pressure and pain on my hip joints. So I sleep with a body pillow between my knees to give the top one support and keep my hips more aligned. I also sleep on a Featherbed topper on my already pillow topped mattress. It lets my body sink into one spot like a nest and just feel snuggled and comfy. I don't move when I sleep, ever, so it's great. If you move around a lot, it might feel like your flopping around in fluffy sand all night. lol
OlderCPer, I am sorry to hear about all of your pain. I pray it gets better. I just had an MRI done on my knee finally after complaining all of 2017 about the pain and swelling. I hope this can all get fixed. I LOVE my body pillow. It helps with comfort for my anxiety as well. I put it between my legs to help with my hip pain. I am going to start taking melatonin again, as I did sometimes before my accident. I also have some sleeping essential oils. Thank you!
