Those of you who know me know that I just got back from a long road trip with my 2 year old. We drove from MI to the WI/MN border, and stopped along to way to see friends and family, celebrate Easter, etc.
It was nice to see everyone but was VERY hard on my body. The RSD in my foot and leg flared pretty badly and I was literally gritting my teeth at points. So we got home after 10 days away, and I even got a day to myself to relax and get a massage, though it turned out to be half a massage b/c 25 minutes was all they had and that just is warming me up as my back is SO bad. But the point is, after the long, long week plus, I got a day to rest.
I was sick all weekend having picked up a bad cold made worse by allergies I already had, and really was knocked out. My foot is not exactly feeling normal but it's not killing me, either. I'm taking my meds and it was when I realized my meds seemed awfully low, I remembered that I have my PM appt next week. That meant that I should be gone this week as I am always gone the week before my appt. I checked and yep- I have a plane to catch in exactly 24 hours!
I don't know HOW this slipped my mind, or if i just was so tired and in so much pain that I blocked it out? I'm shocked that I'm leaving again, and I just got home. I'm not driving, thank God, as my travel is always by plane, but it was a long night of laundry, of finding an airport hotel for tonight as my flight is so early, and figuring out just what I'll be doing. I also had to remind the sitter, and my hubby, who isn't pleased.
I always was so proud of staying in the game, of working when I could and for the most part, enjoying it. Now I'm just plain tired. I mean, I KNOW I have a great job. I just...I don't know.
At least I'm not leaving the country again like last month, and I have a friend in Vegas who always picks me up at my hotel and takes me somewhere fun. And the warm weather isn't humid, so my RSD might feel better. And another massage, a REAL one, might help the back.
I just feel like it is overkill right now. I'm tired, cranky, and hurt. And I don't get back till midnight on Friday!
I guess the airport hotel will be a nice break. I can check in at 3pm after being up all night and sleep straight through till...2am. Why is the plane so early? Ugh.
Oh well, it'll be a nice break when I get back as my DH and son are going to his mother's and I get to stay home alone. Now THAT is a vacation! I'll focus on that, and can't wait to get back.
Forgive my whining- I'm not feeling so great and flying with a cold is not my idea of a good time. Who knows, maybe I'll find the time to sit by the pool and relax? ;)

so bravo to you,i am so sorry though that you endure such bad pain...i hope you do get to relax once you get where your going,by the pool,man that would be nice!!!!!!,,,,,and a real good massage!!!!!
i envy you,in a good way,you give me hope that maybe i can push a bit harder and do more....

wow, you do have a hectic schedule, one that i dont think i could handle very well...your a strong woman and a go getter, you never seem to give up and i absolutely love that about you... the one thing i noticed about your post was the working part, and if you should work or give it all up??? i am not sure of your age, but i think you still pretty young... and you didnt mention if you could afford to quit work, but this is what i think...
What would be your reason for leaving, and could you deal with that reason in the future.. ?? I left work 8 years ago because the pain was too much, and my back surgery was a failed attempt and when i did it i couldnt possible even walk anymore..so i had no choice, but mentally i began feeling like i let myself down, or at least my body left myself down and that began hurting me emotionally.. if you could jot down on paper your pros and cons, that might help.. and try to write down all the things you will miss about working...working is very healthy for the mind and spirit, and if you have never been home for long stretches in your life you may find it difficult like i did.. you have to know you can fill in your voids with hobbies, and such, or you may find yourself regretting your decision... you can always go back, but finding a great job again may be hard to do...good luck in your endeavors and if you need anyone to talk to feel free to send me a message...~stinke~
