the doctors are talking about fusing the bones together for me, but they dont know, as they said once the bone is fused and something happens they cant operate on it and i will have to put up with it.

Still I don't know anyone who has had this.

I thought that was your second surgery but not?

One thing stated was there is a high precent of other damage to the body when the accident occurs. In the way of back and neck. I assume they checked that out when you had the accident.

Thanks hippy yeah it was my second surgery the fusing, i was just wondering how many people on here had chronic pain from an ankle fusion, yeah they checked out my back and neck, i also have syatic problems from a 4 wheeler accident but not form shattering the heel, and SRH i would think twice before an ankle fusion although i dont know what your original injury was it didnt help me.

Always wise to get several (3 or more) opinions before deciding

I have 3 levels of my lumbar spine fuse, and 1 level in my neck, but I have never heard of anyone with an ankle joint fuse. I can only imagine the pain, we all need our legs, ankles, etc. to walk, and having the ankle with this awful issues must be hell.
