Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

It truly is a pain to have pain.... I fight chronic pain and believe, as you have indicated, that a majority of it is due to pinched nerves in my neck (of course any physician who I have asked indicates this to not be the case but when the pain is noticeably originating from one location it is hard to ignore). I mention this because a new-to-me activity in which I recently participated helped me greater than any other I have tried in the past. I have attempted to alleviate in most natural and unnatural ways (mediation, exercise, medication, substance abuse, etc.) but have found that hot yoga is highly beneficial. Now in full disclosure, I vomited during my first hot yoga session and the days following the session had me feeling more muscle pains than I have experienced in years; however, the relief that I felt on the day of the session was indescribable and the transition of my pain from being chronic and residing mainly in my joints to being isolated to my muscles and having a very specific cause has reignited my belief that one day I might actually awake without pain.
I hope you experience at least a day without pain and urge you to try hot yoga as it may be helpful for you as it was for me.
Make it a great day,
Brandt H
