Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

I believe lovebaby8 is ONLY talking about Medicaid due to income being at the federal poverty level. In which case you may be able to qualify for a Charity Care program within your community. Depending on the medication you are taking some pharmaceutical companies provide access to the poor. Try the website of the company that makes the med you take. You may also be able to research some information on www.healthcare.gov and see if anything new has been put into Medicaid prescription assistance. Your profile mentions where you work, so look into the pharmaceutical program there also. Try every angle possible.
Always be your own advocate! It's YOUR life.
Best wishes. :) pRu
Painruss, just give you some very good information, you need to figure out if this is SSDI or if this is some other type of disability, and also see if you will qualify for Medicare now that you no longer qualify for Medicaid. Is this LTD from work? Long term disability from your employer? Or is it from the State? You need to check on all of that before becoming depressed, there is always a solution, and what you need to do now i s get your ducks in a row, and see what you qualify for, do not despair, things can be worked out.
Hugs,
I am on SSDI and have Medicare, but because I pay rent, bills, etc... when they look at my income Vs. what I pay, they do qualified me for Medicaid help. Are you married or single? If you pay rent, and bills, the $955.00 is not going to go very far! So if you go to the welfare office and show that, let's say; you pay $500.00 in rent, $100.00 in electric, $50.00 on water, and $50.00 on phone, that only leaves you with $255.00 to live, so then they should be able to get give you some amount of help with Medicaid, you need to get all of this stuff together so that way you can get some kind of help.
What about your employer? Do you have COBRA? The website that I gave you yesterday helps people that are underinsure and with issues like COBRA, etc... so you might want to check into that. Let's hope that you can get some help before the Medicaid ends, there hs to be a way! Take care,
I was fortunate because my plan gave us an instant 36 months of coverage in Cobra. But every year that passed also dropped the amount of coverage I was allowed. Granted my payments went down but it also meant more out of pocket from me. So far things have worked out well regarding any type of doctor visits & haven't shelled out a dime. My Cobra is paid through end of 2010 which is when Cobra expires completely. Very concerned what my options will be for secondary insurance on 1/2011. It's not cheap living in NJ tell you that much, but I still make too much on SSD to qualify for anything...and since I had a compensation settlement I'm screwed. They take all assets into consideration, yet don't give a damn how far down the road that money will last me. It's a "double payment" law that states you cannot be doubly compensated. Yet criminals find easy ways to rob the government blind from OUR money. Sorry, still a bit bitter lol.
Congrats on winning your S.S. Disability so it's a start. Don't get depressed, get the fire of dissension in your blood and fight to be heard as a human being. pRu
