Hi I'm new to DS and thought i should say hello to you all. I am on here because 3 years ago i fell off a ladder and shattered my heel, had surgery(1st Surgery) A metal plate and about 12 screws, after i was supposed to be all healed and back to about 85 percent i still had lots of pain so my first surgeon referred me to a ankle / foot specialist and he said we should take out the metal plate and fuse the ankle bone with a enormous screw. He also said there would be a 95 percent chance it would relieve my pain, so i went along with the surgery and it absolutely made it worse i can't stand or walk more then 4 min or so, even when i sit down there is pain only about 4 hours of sleep a night. My regular Doc says there is nothing more they can do and to be honest i don't want them touching my foot ever again, so the Doc has me on Vicodin, after trying neurotin, ametriplyne, and soon we are also going "try" lyrica. We both don't have high hopes for Lyrica since other Nerve pain meds didn't work. Thats my story, sorry about the ranting!
