Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
A year and a half ago I had everything tested, my Vit D levels were 4.2 (the lowest my doc has ever seen personally, under 25 is considered seriously low). I took the 100,000 iu's of the prescription D3 for two weeks, then 50k iu's for 26 weeks and only got up to 39 (I think). I was also taking the 4k iu's daily of the D3. I started taking this at the beginning of 2012, so finished early Summer.
We tested again in December, and I was back down to 19, so started again at the 100k for two weeks, and now I have 15 weeks (of 26) left at the 50k, plus the 4k daily of the D3, which doc says I need to do for the rest of my life. We will also retest annually.
I have never noticed a decrease in pain, but I probably never got my levels high enough to be beneficial - in fact my pain has become increasingly worse in the past year and a half. This time we are re-testing when I complete the script, and might do a 3rd round!!!
O2 is very important too. Meditation will help with deep breathing also relaxes the muscles to allow greater blood flow.
maganiseum and Vit C are important to absorbing Vit D.
Any vit D suppliment will work. You don't have to pay those prices for some.
PM me if you want the names of some ON-line places where you can get it cheaper.
I've been told by my Pdoc (psychiatrist), PM Dr. and Neurologist to be out for 20 minutes per day, every day is possible. My Vitamin D level likes to hover around 7.5 when a normal persons is 50....LOL...the kicker is I'm usually on so many Anti-biotics I can't go out in the sun!!!!! Go figure.
I hope you get some help from the Vitamin D. I will tell you I take my Vit. D by injections as well as Vit. B12 because the body absorbs them easier than pills sitting in your stomach. If you do take pills, try to get the gel pills as opposed to hard tablets.
Also if you look around while at the grocery store, many, many products are not infused with extra Vit. D.
Take care,
Kat
