I was diagnosed a year ago with Stage zero also. I just started taking the Green Tea extract and have my next appt. with my oncologist in November. Hopefully, my count will go down also. It's nice to hear that someone diagnosed 4 years ago is still at Stage zero!

Yes, still zero, thank goodness. You might throw in the Vitamin D along with the GT extract, just in case it helps. Honestly, I think most of us are pretty slow progressing though, so maybe I shouldn't be crediting my supplements. I do like those numbers going down though!

How much green tea extract are you using? I'm similar to you. Very slow progression which is great. My numbers are similar to yours. I am at 3 years post diagnosis. I only do about 1500 IU of vitamin D. I am a little Leary to try more but numbers decreasing is a definite incentive to take it seriously.
Btw I came across a man who is 12 yrs post diagnosis with no treatment thus far. There is hope that treatment may be far down the road if ever. Imagine in 10 yrs there may be a cure :)

Funny I was just going to write and ask if anyone has tried green tea or anything else. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 in February (age 49) and may need treatment soon as my nodes are increasing. My primary care doctor suggested green tea supplements and cumin. i was also juicing every day to stay healthy (friends were throwing suggestions my way which was overwhelming! Yoga, massage, acupuncture, supplements etc.) I had some major stomach issues and not sure what from so stopped the supplements and juicing. I'm wondering what is best to take. My oncologist just keeps saying live life normally but my friends are making me feel there are things I can do to "be more healthy" and to shrink my lymph nodes.
Another friend suggested the Block Center in Chicago or the Gerson Institute in California as a way to be healthy and reverse my condition. I tend to be more traditional so am skeptical of nontraditional treatments. Any thoughts?

I take 500 mg of the GT extract and 5000 iu of D3. D3 is a big help with autoimmune disorders and a number of cancer types, so I'm going to stick with it.
I have a second cousin who has had CLL for many years without treatment. She is now 85 and CLL is the least of her health issues. If I could make it to 85, I'd be tickled. But I do have hope that a cure will come along in the next decade.

Thanks for the info igmaam. I'm always a little nervous to try things in case I go the other way. Interesting that you mention your second cousin. My paternal grandfather had same as well. Makes one wonder ... May we all make it to 80+ yrs.

I just received my initial diagnosis two weeks ago. I am still waiting for staging information. I did ask my Oncologist/Hematologist what else I could do and she gave me an article about the green tea extract. It seems that studies support that green tea extract can help delay the onset of symptoms. The study used 4000 mg of green tea extract. That is what I have been taking, 2000 mg twice a day. Too soon to tell but I feel like I am doing something.

Where do you buy such high quantities of gt extract? GNC only has a pill with about 130 mg. I'd have to take them by the handful.

I buy my Green Tea extract from Puritan Pride, the 500mg Caps.
Take 2 Caps a Day. My last White count was lower, my ALC went from 7.0 to 6.6 last Fall. Go back for recheck on February 26,2013.
Of course, there is no way of determining that "it is the green tea extract". I am also trying to lose weight.

Online or in health food stores you can get a liquid concentrate that is higher in dosage. The article about the green tea effectiveness was a hospital study about its effectiveness for CLL and the results were very good.
Regretfully I was misdiagnosed and really have mantle cell lymphoma. I am still taking the green tea though.

Good for all of you who have lowered or kept a slow progression. I have tried a variety of supplements but my count kept climbing. I take D3 and curcumin and CoQ10 along with green tea extract anyway as I am still healthy in spite of the CLL.
