This is a wonderful concept and so important. To love ourselves. To be our own best friends.....sometimes no one is around. I turn to the Lord to help me. But we can be alone without being totally lonely. We need to love ourselves. Thank you for guiding my thoughts in that direction today! xox
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!
A while back I finally realized that humans have the ability to live solo for long periods of time. We're very social animals, like dogs and cats...but at times there were always those who moved alone into new areas or found themselves cut off from their clans. In this modern age of urbanization, it's easy to become very isolated and lonely in the midst of busy urban life.
So I learned the lesson that friends are nice to have, but we can live without them. It seems impossible at first, but as they say...the difficult we do right away, the impossible takes a little longer. This time of year I feel blessed that I don't have to endure family fights and the nightmare of holiday shopping. Lately I feel more protected and insulated than isolated.
True, it's fun to gorge on turkey and fight with relatives...LOL. But truth be told, I'd rather be gardening.
a lot of fine wisdom there.
As far as the holidays. I never was a big shopper.
So, I definitely don't miss that. When I was growing
up, I was fortunate that my family usually had very
warm, fuzzy holiday celebrations.
So, although most of that generation is no
longer living, I am glad today that I have some very fine
memories.
I've had a 'decent' day. I want to wish everyone
here a happy Thanksgiving. Whether you celebrate it
in a traditional way, or not. I am grateful that we have
this very diverse and open website. It is one more
thing for me to be grateful for. take good care.
