Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Support Group
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) describes a sense of exhaustion and post-exertion malaise, even when you have gotten enough rest and sleep. The disease is characterized by six months of incapacitating fatigue experienced as profound exhaustion and extremely poor stamina, and problems with concentration and short-term memory. I am so sorry you are going through that. How horrible for you that your husband says that to you. Wether he means it or not, that must be pretty hard!
Try to remember that you WILL feel better one day but today your body needs help in fighting that internal struggle. Eat well, sleep well and love yourself!
CFS is "crazy body behavior" by definition. Having CFS means UP, DOWN, UP, DOWN. Every single one of us goes through this! It's how the illness rolls.
Our hope when we're UP, is that it will last a while.
Our hope when we're DOWN, is that it will be a quick one.
OUR HOPE is that we know we will always get back up, even if we're down for a long time!!!
Maybe, Lord willing, someday there will be a cure. Who knows. Just live one day at a time. Try not to waste too much time wishing it were different. It is what it is. It's chronic and it makes us all nuts.
So we're all here together to help each other along. The UPS and DOWNS of this roller coaster ride, we call CFS/ME!!!
You've accepted it. You don't like this hideous illness at all. But IMHO, you have accepted it! xoxoxo!
Don't be hard on yourself. OK?
It's pretty easy to accept when I'm doing reasonably well (for me) and can do a few small errands, some housework (not both on the same day).
Right now I'm not doing well, and acceptance is harder. I find that depression comes along with feeling worse. Maybe just "blues" as it's not a full blown depression. Right now I'm looking at a basket of unfolded laundry that I PROMISED myself I would fold and put away today. Don't think it's gonna happen.
On the happier side, I'm not completely bed bound, and I know how awful that is from personal experience.
Accepting it seems more helpful than railing against it, and so I continue the process of acceptance.
I feel so bad for you! Bedridden day after day is crazy making. You deserve the empathy of your husband but he can't understand this illness. Having been through alot of relationships, I was wondering if you can contact an agency that could come visit you and occasionally assist you. This might take some of the pressure off a relationship. I know it takes some calling around, can anyone help you do that?. I also use audio books from the library when I'm stuck In bed for long periods. Hope this helps!
