Surgery

Hi. I'm having surgery tomorrow to remove a small bump on my neck. It really hasn't been an issue but I'm read some material about a type of cancer that may be associated with EBV and it was supposed to be indentifiable by a bump on the neck.

Has anyone else heard this? I will be at my surgeon's tomorrow and he said that the worst part would be the numbing. I can only think 'Oh Great! That's all?' Very sarcastically I might add. I'm really nervous about this. He says it'll only require a few stitches. But I'm still nervous.

I dont mean to sound insensitive but after he numbs it you wont feel a thing and it wont take long...but i know what you mean feeling scared. Stay positive and it will be ok.

I have read the with the EBV some people have Lympth issues repeatidly and could be more susceptable to cancer. I dont think it is proven just speculation. But hey prevention is the key and I admire you for taking control of your health and getting it removed. That is what I would do. Good luck with the surgery and be strong - huggies

Surgery is scary I know I have had around 6 surgeries and the first one I had a lump removed off my breast. The surgery is over and then ofcourse I got more scared waiting on the biopsy results. It wasnt cancer...but I finally figured whether it was or not it had to be taken off...and I would go from there.

Just remember you are doing the right things and if you need to talk or a friend I am here.

Where's a HUG button when you need one? :o) I'm grateful for your comments and insight. I am also available and would love to be an ear, shoulder or whatever you need when you need it. I aspire to be as encouraged and upbeat as possible.

I am also going in for a mammogram on Monday. It just seems that I have quite a few appointments at the end of this year.
