I'm new to this group, so my apologies if this has been covered before; if it has, please feel free to direct me to that thread.
Does anyone know which sleeping pills won't make our condition worse? Some are SSRIs, some are Benzos, some anti-seziure meds, and wondering which class worsens our condition. Granted, I've started all the natural supplements but I'd like a drug to help me sleep right now and get me through to some recovery.
I've had CFS/AFS for two years (of course it was just recently diagnosed, blech), and that's when the waking insomnia started. I've been on Seroquel since then, and my dose has gone up and down, and I'm about to go up on it again after two rough nights. I hope it's not contributing to my worsening condition, and I'm open to taking a different one if it won't mess things up worse. I think the rest of my treatment would benefit from some SLEEP.

For me, these are all the things I've tried for my insomnia that didn't work: Lunesta, soma, Ambien, Ambien CR and a bunch of different SSRIs.
The only thing that has worked for me personally is benzos mixed with benadryl. It's was hard for me to find a doc that would prescribe them. But one xanax every night seems to work well for me.
