Relaxing, our best medicine.

This has probably already been done, but I didn't want to use energy to go looking for it.

What special things, activities, or places are just so wonderfully relaxing for you? Please post and share.

This one will be the silliest of all. During my early years of CFS I found wrapping my head with a small soft blanket to be very comforting and relaxing. My wife wasn't to sure about it when I did it in the car, but she was supportive about it, knowing it helped me.

I've got more, but I'm wanting to see what others do. Take care all. We're helping each other make it through this, one day at a time.

This year I've had a very special form of relaxation. My middle daughter, her husband, and two year old live right next to us. I often get my little granddaughter for her naps. Before laying her down to sleep, I hold her. I get about five to fifteen minutes of relaxation from holding her. I feel like I should be paying her mom and dad for the privilege.

Weaving has been a relaxing activity for me, but lately it has been harder because I am just coming out of a big crash. However, I just was given a loom that I can use when in bed or propped in my comfy chair. So I look forward to being able to do that, as weaving really helps me feel good ( mentally and spiritually). If I am feeling really bad and can't weave, cuddling with my dog is very relaxing. Mediation is good too, but difficult on bad days when my head and body hurt.

By the way, I sleep with a knit hat on. Probably because I shave my head, but I think I like how feels also. Like a hug on my head.

Outside time is great. I finally found a naturally scented soy candle (no headaches) so having that burning seems like a special luxury. I've also recently started EFT tapping for stress relief (there's a great book if anyone's interested) and have seen a lot of benefits from it. It's only been a month but I think I'm legitimately starting to help my adrenals heal.
