Advance warning - lady about to vent again :((

So today in a meeting with my employers ( a very large company who shall remain nameless) about me returning to work .....

I tried to explain that rather than there be any bad feeling about me being treated 'differently' to other staff over the next few months that I was happy for my colleagues to know what was wrong with me . This was said in the spirt of openness to encourage support and understanding ....

Oh how very foolish I was ..............

It was met with - oh I don't think an announcement is necessary and it should come from you and well you only need tell someone next to you !!!
Their faces said it all - Oh you think you're special don't you !!!

Point lost completely and once again I'm left feeling frustrated... I cannot do right for doing wrong it seems.

Dang, girl! Well, it sounds like they have some major problems. I can understand your frustration, but you are not the one with the problem. That really doesn't make you feel better, I'm sure. Grieve it out so you can release them to their own fate. Blessings.

Employers can be jerks. I glad you felt confident and comfortable sharing this change in your life. It is that horrible attitude of, "You don't look sick, so you must be making things up just to get attention."

I hope you can move on after this frustrating experience. We know how sick you are. We know life has to be different now. We care!

Thanks everyone - I'm sorry to vent and sound so cross all the time but I am working on ways to turn this around - day by day I am able to 'let it go' more and more easily but its going to be a long process.
Ive always said I have no patience , I sometimes wonder if this is life's way of teaching me some :)

No need to apologize. We all go through stages of grief. You're mad right now. We get that. No one judges you for that. You are still in the beginning stages. So, there will be other things to come before you reach acceptance. And even after you reach acceptance, there will still be new things to process that will send you back to the beginning again. But it's like a spiral staircase. You might feel like you keep winding around to the same point over and over, but each time, you are a little higher up the stairs than the last time. You're doing just fine. Chin up, dear one.
