My doctor just gave me sample of something new to try. It's called Zipsor and it's fast acting. So far no problems using it and it does ease the pain.

I have severe gastritis. Have been dealing with it for 3 years now. CFS brought this lovely stomach problem to me. I have developed food allergies, and first had to learn what foods were making my stomach hurt the worst! I discovered that milk and dairy products hurt, and anything with vanilla in it. Would you believe even CHOCOLATE has vanilla in it? So after I learned about what foods were making my gastritis so bad, I had to talk medications.

I cannot take, and you should NOT take, Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve....NSAIDS period. They will kill your stomach. Narcotics cause me stomach pain too.

I have daily headaches with CFS! I also have continuous shoulder muscle pain and a sore throat. I can take Tylenol. That's it. If Tylenol doesn't help the pain, I'm just stuck. Every other pain med, hurts the gut.

Can you take Tylenol? It works for me. It stops my headache. I take 1500mg's a day in different doses at different times. I need some pain relief about once every four hours. So I buy the Tylenol 500mg. pills and break them in half. I take a half every three for four hours, and at the end of the day, I've hit 1500mgs. That's an appropriate dose, it's out of the "danger" range for Tylenol. You can take up to, but not more than 3000 mgs. of Tylenol a day.

I totally relate to having headache pain. It is incredibly distracting. I do hope you can take Tylenol. It will NOT hurt your tummy!

Thankyou so much for your reply. It really helps to know I am not alone with these very challenging daily symptoms. I will take note of your info and will see my GP soon. I think over the yrs Tylenol has not helped the pain and I just got despondent and disinterested. However I will now try taking it throughout the day and monitor my stomach. I use freezer head bands and as soon as I remove it, I feel the pain again. Seems to work but a hassle to have the cooler bag with ice pak beside the bed, sometimes evening too. People have no idea how sick we are at home. I always look great when I go out, people think I'm fine. Very mentally challenging. Thx again.

I do not suffer from headaches but I do have CFS. There are several headache prescription drugs available. I am not sure what ones would be best for you to try. If OTC medicine is not good for you then ask for a prescription (try samples if available).

I have chronic pain due to back problems and use Norco (tylenol with hydrocodone). A friend of mine says Norco works for his intermittent headaches.

It's my understanding that headaches are caused by different things. The prescription meds treat headaches differently depending on the type of headache.
