Hello, everyone. Today I find myself having to work for the third time to get accommodations where I've worked for almost thirty years. the last two times I worked at getting accommodations were exhausting, yet I did end up getting accommodations after jumping through hoops and long delays.
Now I have a new supervisor and have been skating by on my old accommodations. Turns out the position I was put into in her group via a reorganization requires shift work. I know I can't do that. The trouble is I have to go through the process of getting accommodated for the same old issues all over again. The place I work won't just use the old accommodations. ARGH. I have to apply all over again. Frustrated, frustrated, and frustrated. Okay, thanks I feel better, minimally.
It's hard to find the energy and to face the stress to work at doing this again. Also I want to ask for accommodations covering all of my bases. I'm just not sure of myself. This would find me in a time of less energy than I've been having. Sorry, that's probably more than enough of the woe is me.
Would my friends on here check the following list of accommodations I'm planning on asking for. See what maybe I've left off. The trouble for me is that some can be kind of vague. I don't want to be vague. Here we go.
1. No shift work.
2. I work maxi-flex, set my own hours between 6:00 am and 5:30 pm. The only requirement is to have eighty hours in a two week pay period.
3. I need to be able to take Sick or Annual leave on short notice and without first seeking approval.
4. I need at least twice as long as the rest of my work group to accomplish any training.
5. I need to continue to telecommute five days a week. Only going to an company office if I absolutely have to and then only once a month and no more than three times a year.
There is probably something else, but can't think of it at the moment.

Do you need to define "short notice" for leave?
Do you need lots of advance notice on the days you may need to go to an office?
Perhaps you can work on making these accommodations permanent, transcending supervisory changes.
I need a new letter. This means I need a new CFS doctor. My regular doctor I go to for everything else believes CFS is something that needs to be treated with antidepressants. As a result he can't help me. He doesn't think I need the accommodations just pills. I'm left a little frustrated.
