Yes, I've seen several naturopaths, chiropractors with a focus in nutrition, and functional medicine doctors. Just like all doctors, some are good and some are bad. I have seen many traditional medicine doctors and only had symptom help from 1. Likewise I've seen several naturopathic doctors and haven't had help from all, but have had help from some. It just depends on the practitioner.
The functional medicine doctor found that my ferritin was extremely low, even though my other iron panels were normal. By increasing my ferritin, I was able to decrease my lightheadeness substantially. They also look at things very differently and might see something your normal doctor doesn't. I think it's worth a shot.

Thank you for your response. I also think it's worth it, because I have not had luck with my MD or endocrinologist. I felt like they minimized my symptoms and brushed me off because nothing was obviously wrong in their testing. Hopefully the ND will be more open minded and look at the bigger picture.

I have tried several different ones over the years but have had no significant improvement from it. Then again, the same can be said about all the doctors I have seen.

I love my ND but shes not covered by my current insurance :( She still sells me meds though when I need them. My favorites are virattack (when I am getting a rare virus) and lomatium root (for bronchial issues). I found her very gentle, sensitive and understanding. Getting a note sent from an ND to your pcp also helps your cause because to ignore the dx of another physician is just bad form.

I wrote a rather lengthy reply and it got erased. Basically, yes, naturopaths have helped me a
great deal, and yes some are better than others. It was the only way I was able to get a CFS
diagnosis and a decent thyroid test and later on an adrenal test. It was the only way I was dx with
Chronic Lyme. If it wasn't for several of these naturopaths, it's hard to say what would be the
outcome. In addition, they had been the only ones who took my symptoms seriously and took the time to listen and be compassionate. ,

I didn't learn much from my naturopath. But she did get me on kale smoothies. It's the only thing I can eat that doesn't cause an immediate fatigue effect. If any one wants to try it it's just Kale, egg whites, fruit, olive oil, and carrot or cucumber.

Cucumber and carrot slaw with some vinegar gives me a lift as well. (Can't eat kale, I'm hypothroid)

That's Too bad about kale it's got a lot of good stuff in it. I know it's so hard to find food that doesn't make you more tired let alone foods that give you an actual boost.

Thank you all for your helpful responses. I will definitely try the kale and other food suggestions. I saw the naturopath today. Was not impressed from the moment I walked in. Was bombarded with supplements and overwhelming information that was explained at a level way beyond my understanding. Saw it as a red flag when he didn't shake my hand to introduce himself right off the bat, but instead started rambling off his credentials and experience and so called expertise. Barely got a word in. Oh well.. I'll keep looking. Definitely discouraged though.

Wanted to also say that you were right to be put off by the lack of even a handshake. My first visit with my ND included the most thorough physical exam I've gotten in years - external only of course, but she checked muscle tone, nerve sensitivity, checked for trigger and tender points... she is also in an office with an acupuncturist and suggested I try a session (did nothing for me). But she didn't push meds of any kind and mostly suggested reading "How to be sick" by Toni Bernhard (which changed my whole outlook on this illness) and some meditation cds. She did sell me an Epstein Barr med but the whole business med wise was about $12. Wish she was still covered... I hope you find something that helps!

That's great. I'm glad you had such a good experience. Im trying a different approach and looking now for a counselor. I'm still open to finding a good ND but hoping therapy will help me cope better with the emotional side of this. I'll be looking into that book you mentioned. Thank you

Can't walk. Guess it is neuropathy. I say guess because having been thru 2 orthopedic surgeons, 2 GPS, 4 PAs, a PAD specialist and a neurologist, I still have no diagnosis and no treatment. Had an MRI, x rays and blood tests, no one ever explained them to me. The only thing I got from any of these drs was a prescription to pain management. Duh doc, I'm not in pain. I just can't walk. I say, doc, can you hear me --- doc???
