Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Support Group
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) describes a sense of exhaustion and post-exertion malaise, even when you have gotten enough rest and sleep. The disease is characterized by six months of incapacitating fatigue experienced as profound exhaustion and extremely poor stamina, and problems with concentration and short-term memory. The cause is unknown, but it is a...
Then I ran into some challenges. I started to get really hot and dehydrated. But if it raised my thyroid and adrenals and the summer heat was coming on, that would make sense. I eventually dropped back to .25mg every other day. That seems to be working now. I love being out of fight/flight! It will be interesting if I need more in the winter.
Now I wonder if I am reacting some to the filler. I don't know. I am about to get back with my doctor to get her input.
Best of luck. Just keep playing with it, if you need to.
Thank you both for posting about low does naltrexone. I am also taking it and have had increased energy. But to be honest, I didn't know if the medication was helping, or if it was the variety of supplement pills I am taking each day. After reading your posts I think maybe it is the medication.
I am also adding Lyteshow electrolytes in my water 2-3 times a day and taking 2 grams a day of Saltstick Vitassium Bufferred electrolyte salts (broken up into 4 doses daily) which seem to be keeping my blood volume more regulated. I don't feel my heart racing as often. (orthostatic intolerance) I think the blood volume regulation is just making my overall body work better.
I saw some information on dietary changes. Per my doctors advice I am gluten and dairy free. She says this is important because our bodies don't recover as easily from the "normal" amount of inflammation that comes when a person eats gluten or dairy. I had also seen a webinar done by Dr. Lapp from Charlotte NC that used the acronym SCANT when it comes to diet. So now using that acronym I am limiting extremely or cutting out altogether Sugar, Caffeine, Alcohol, NutraSweet and all artificial sweeteners, Nightshade vegetables and tobacco....which was never something I did anyway. Not sure if you already knew all of that, but figured it couldn't hurt to mention it. Just as this disease is multifaceted I think for me personally the approach to a cure has to be as well. Diet, supplements, medication, pacing and patience. That last one is the toughest for me. I'm sure you can relate; but I really miss my life the way it used to be. I hope to be that energetic active person again. I hope that for all of us!
Wishing you both continued healing and positive progress!
