Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Support Group
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) describes a sense of exhaustion and post-exertion malaise, even when you have gotten enough rest and sleep. The disease is characterized by six months of incapacitating fatigue experienced as profound exhaustion and extremely poor stamina, and problems with concentration and short-term memory. The cause is unknown, but it is a...
1. Switch to a corded phone. Get rid of your cordless. These cordless DECT phones emit microwaves 24/7. You should be able to find a cheap used one, but if you can't some stores still sell corded phones (no cordless handsets at all). Try London Drugs to start. That's where I got mine. I can trace back my first symptoms to when I moved to a home and got a cordless phone. This was also 6 months after I had my first cell phone. But the sudden change in my health within a month of the cordless phone was very striking.
2. Get rid of the WiFi and get WIRED Internet and TV. Seriously. The WiFi routers emit microwaves 24/7 and the constant high pulses of "data packages" that are sent containing large amounts of information from the video and images and such wreak havoc on the immune system. If you cannot get rid of the WiFi, then unplug the router when you aren't using it, especially at night, and keep your distance from that router. It goes through walls so check to make sure the places you spend the most time are not above or below or beside that router. I didn't have WiFi (tried it but instantly couldn't sleep, so got rid of it) but I had industrial WiFi at work and shortly after that I got REALLY sick. No longer working there, but I would like to know where the routers were and if they were right where I spent most of my time.
3. Keep your phone and other wireless devices in Airplane Mode whenever possible. Switch back to check for messages from time to time. Only use cell phone for texting if you have to use it. If you must talk on it, put it into speaker phone and keep it away from your head and heart and abdomen. NEVER use it in a vehicle (metal cage) and especially in a moving vehicle (has to work harder to find and keep a signal). I can't believe they make vehicles with WiFi in them. This will be over soon with the latest health studies, but until then, avoid, avoid, avoid.
4. Unplug appliances, turn off breakers, reduce as much electricity running through your house as possible, especially when you are sleeping. If possible, turn off the breakers to all the outlets in your bedroom. Get a Gauss meter to check for what may be coming through the neighbours' walls if you are in a condo/apartment. I learned that the three places I spent the most time had the highest electromagnetic radiation in my whole home. My bed was being pummelled by neighbour's satellite internet/tv dish (I used my RF/MW meter to learn this; Geesh, no wonder I was feeling like crap. The levels were off the charts of the meter. I moved my bed downstairs.) My workstation at home had HUGE electromagnetic readings from an outdoor light pole nearby and something big on the other side of the wall in the neighbour's condo -- likely a large TV. I moved my workstation. And then there was the kitchen: the dishwasher was emitting crazy amounts of EMR even though it wasn't turned on. That breaker has been shut off and I do dishes by hand. When I need the dishwasher, I flip the breaker back on. I can't do much about the fridge and stove, but I try to keep my distance and I try to avoid the hours and hours I would spend in there.
There are other things you can do, but these are the simplest ones.
BUT THE BIGGEST ONE is the smart meter. Get that off your house if possible. We have smart modules on our gas meters here and they caused a huge problem with my symptoms. I live in a high density area and so there are 50 meters all within about 100 ft of me. Ugh. This is the reason I started researching this stuff, which made me figure things out, so I am grateful for the smart meters for that, I suppose. Do what you can to stop these from coming or get your neighbours to get theirs off too. EVERY jurisdiction where these are installed there are hundreds of people who become very ill. Again, it's the high pulses of microwaves that emit in very short bursts thousands of time all day. They say they only emit a bit for a few minutes a day, but they are fudging things. They are using averages. It's like saying a high powered strobe light flashing into your bedroom at night all night is only really lighting up for 3 minutes each night. Well, I suppose if you totalled up the nanoseconds of light over the 8 hours that could be true. It doesn't mean that it's not disturbing your body.
I can assure you, there are studies that prove that EMR is dangerous to health. The most recent is the USA Toxicology study. http://pressroom.cancer.org/NTP2016
If anyone wants more studies or links to websites with hundreds of doctors from all over the world explaining that this stuff is damaging to our health just let me know. I'd be happy to share the information. We need to share this information to help each other because the medical community is very slow to adopt this information.
And you don't have to give up your computers and internet and TV. You just need to use them WIRED instead of wireless. Super easy to do. But be insistent that they give you the right modem (non=wireless kind) because they have ones that can do both but the wireless can't be turned off even though you aren't using the wireless part. You'll need a meter to be sure because the installers are often clueless. Once you're using an ethernet cord instead of wireless (you can get really long cords so it's not a big deal about where you want to use your device), you need to turn off the WIFI in the device. It will be in the settings and is usually called Airplane mode. I didn't know this when I had my laptop. Had it emitting for 2 years even though I was wired up. Ugh. Yes, you can even wire up a tablet if you search the internet for instructions.
Another tip to reduce the EMF from the laptop: plug in a wired keyboard with a wired mouse. This will increase your distance from the screen (should not be on your lap, even the safety guidelines in the manuals say this; laptop is a bit of a misnomer.) and you won't have to touch the laptop with is electrified pretty much. AND, to improve things you should use the laptop in battery mode instead of hooking up the charger while you use it. This will reduce your exposure greatly, too.
Oh, and any electrical cords should not be in loops. Creating a loop in the cord increases the electromagnetic radiation A LOT! I was so shocked when I learned that. Who knew? No wonder I was getting sick!
So, you can still use your devices and stay connected and entertained; you just need to use them with some safety precautions. :)
