I had a multi-year relationship years ago with a guy that initially had hang ups about my CFS, but eventually turned out to be the best advocate I ever met and helped me with alot of stuff. However, during the initial "yuck you have CFS "stage I was so hurt about him putting pressure on me to get cured and find the cause ( to be acceptable to him) that I fired off an outrageously fictional letter to his friend, that he said has it too, and can cure me with supplements.
Luckily (15 yrs ago) I had a small support group of about 5 regular PWC's. I decided to write this "friend " of his and told him that I ALREADY FOUND THE CURE to CFS and belonged to a prestigious group of scientists and researches. I took each group members name and tweaked it abit, to change it for confidentiality. (So like Mary Dinsdale became, Martha Pinsdale) it came out really funny! HERE'S THE KLINCHER , I very factually explained that CFS has been proven to BE CAUSED BY ALIEN ABDUCTION!!
My beau and I broke up 6 months later, but remained friends. On New Years Day I was lonely and asked him out for coffee. We chatted about CFS research and after a half hour of animated discussion, he looked at me sideways and said "Do you think alien abduction has anything to do with it?" My brain was moving so fast, I immediately said "What!!"
I HAD ACTUALLY FORGOTTEN THAT I SENT THE LETTER!
Anyway, I just realized this is a hilarious piece of my crazy CFS history. Thanks for readings,

Anyway, I LOVE the alien abduction story! I truly do. It gives us validation because people are SO much more likely to believe THAT story than the actual truth....which is that we are all just lazy, maladjusted, emotional basket cases that could all be cured with a good nap!!
Alien abduction ..... hmmm, that might explain it all! In 1955, aliens supposedly landed in the little town of Kelly, Kentucky, about 30 miles from my home and very near Hopkinsville, Ky. (Actually, Kelly is where the phrase "green men" began in reference to aliens ... you know --- Kelly green???) Go ahead --- Please, Please, Please google "Kelly Green Men." This year's "Little Green Men Days Festival" will be on Aug. 16.
I was born in a hospital in Hopkinsville! Now, 1955 was before my time, but those little green men may have returned to visit from time to time, over the years. They might have even landed on top of that hospital on the day that I was born! Come on, it could have happened!!!! Nobody really knows where those little boogers are and what they're doing!!!

Obviously, we were all abducted by aliens and experimented on and then returned back to earth in this pathetic condition.

Just before I read these comments I was having a very discouraged mindset, worrying about my symptoms and very irritable with everything. Maybe I was meant to read it today. If you have shown such strength and resilience maybe there's hope for me.
I played some pretty fun jokes on my sister shes a huge pain in the a$$, particularly about my health issues. I made her a fake prescription that was basically for Bitch Pills, but I made it look like it actually came from a pharmacy and printed up a very authentic-looking write-up. She was confused upon receiving them and claimed shed never been to the pharmacy in question, but when she read the write-up she asked, How did they know I need these? I think I technically got her to admit she has a problem and needs medication ... even though she would never see it that way.
As far as aliens are concerned, I dont know about abduction, but Ive entertained the idea that Fibromyalgia and/or CFS patients are alien to some degree and are not suited for conditions on Earth.
I might have to use that....alien abduction!
