And I'm still afraid of - or should say get anxious pumping gas, swiping my visa card and having to remember my pin number and then answer all the questions about correct amounts and cash back. Some times it's all just too much to process! I have a lot more anxiety since becoming sicker and sicker- feel so less competent and capable.
and lastly, I too can envy sicker people in a way, or maybe I'm just puzzled. I have a neighbor whose battling cancer and undergoes weekly chemo. I would not want to be in her place but how the heck does she still have energy? and work? I am so sick and tired of having NO energy- fighting gravity all day. I have moments where I envy those who have energy. I can envy someone with a 'real' illness that everyone believes in and the medical community deems "real".
But, despite how often I've just used the word 'envy', I don't feel it very often and get out of it when it rears its ugly head. It is a soul killer.
I really, really appreciate when we can find the humorous points about our difficult daily lives and share it with others, who understand the complexity of being this sick, yet still able to share a smile! It means everything for us to smile. We need to do it more often.
Thanks for this post! I think I'll go back to my bed now!! xo
