I believe metals will do something to your B12 levels but don't quote me on that one. Anyway I had such a bad reaction to nickel that I want to warn you that Centrum Silver has nickel in it. And as I have posted before in a study of CFS patients 42% of them had an allergy to nickel. I am currently taking the Women to Women personal program. It's about $70 a month but I get everything I need from each packet I take. It's a lot easier than taking a bunch of different things. I let them worry about what I need.
I can't take any B's, they or the niacin that's almost always with them, give me tremors and make me nauseous.
At first I had them twice a week, now that I am feeling 'better' I have them once a month, more or less. They help us in an unusual way I have read but cant remember all about that.
I have heard from many CFS experts (my doctor included) that the only way to effectively get B12 is in a shot. This is what I do and it has eleviated many of the symptoms. I give myself a shot 3 times a week.
Good luck!
A disease called pernicious anemia which inhibits the absorption of vitamin B-12, or high levels of homocysteine are two of the primary causes of Vitamin B-12 deficiency. Correcting these conditions if possible would be a better alternative than B-12 shots or supplements.
You can be at serious risk if you are mercury toxic. If B-12 (artificial only) combines with mercury in your system it will methylate the mercury. Methyl mercury is extremely neurotoxic and can cause irreparable damage.
