Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Support Group
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) describes a sense of exhaustion and post-exertion malaise, even when you have gotten enough rest and sleep. The disease is characterized by six months of incapacitating fatigue experienced as profound exhaustion and extremely poor stamina, and problems with concentration and short-term memory. The cause is unknown, but it is a...
I live with the heat, it doesn't seem to bother me that much though I can't say I like it. Anyway, I built a small workshop years ago with an air-conditioned office. Every time I try to get relief from the heat by going out there to do household book-keeping, I get a stiff neck and aches and pains...sometimes a headache too.
On the positive side, people who complain about their high utility bills get really upset when I tell them what mine is...lol.
I think my muscle pain is directly proportional to my bodies relative hydration (incorperating as close to hartman solution isotonic mineral balance) relative to the relative ambiant humidity because an increase in musclle pain is very noicable on DRY COLD winters days where he humidity is below 50% and the air literally sucks moisture out of my body. On these cold days I forget to drink until about lunch time and by the time I have twigged its too late. Muscles in extream pain and playing catch up (hydrating with isotonically balanced fluids around a pH of 2.0 (acid -Citrus juice 2 x Lemons, 2 x Limes + 2 x Oranges with equal parts clorine free water with the addition of magnesium salts (Magnesium carbonate, MgCO3 and or Magnesium sulphate MgSO4) all day and half the night.
Its to do with body hydration and humidity which is relative to ambient temperature.
On ultra hot days I find it better to be Air Con free (Off) and just sweat it out while replacing fluids. The load on my body on days like this (ie above 100 Deg Fahrenheit) it gets me into a normal sleep wake cycle very easilly because I am so fatigued so quickly.
Hope it makes sense CheeseCat and all.

I understand what you're talking about. I also experience worsen muscle pain with air conditioning. I believe its the drying effect on my bodies hydration system. Air conditioning sucks moisture ou of my body. I therefore drink a minimum of 4 litres of water per summer day but because of a damaged Magnesium and Potassium channelopathies H20 depletes my magnesium levels and I get stacks of cramps. I therefore seek to pre-emptively combat this from happening by replacing Magnesium in supplements (tablets) , magnesium skin oil (dermal absorption, very effective) and Magnesium salts suspended in solutions.

I haven't noticed this connection but I very easily get cold and often wear many layers when others insist on having a/c going in the house. When I was first very sick, I read somewhere that those with CFS often have difficulty regulating their body temperature and I certainly feel like this. I seem to overheat when it's too hot and freeze when a/c is on. I feel like a cold-blooded animal sometimes.
I'm going to pay more attention to the aches in terms of the a/c now.
Thanks for making this connection.
I simply wilt in the heat and freeze in the cold. I can often tell when the thermostat is going to tell the air conditioner to turn on in a couple of minutes because I get hot and sweaty, and in the winter I get so cold right before it turns the heater on. I've got a really sensitive system that I just try to keep at about the same temperature (not too many extremes) so my body has to do less work and feels better.
I am researching the Wil Hof method. It is using cryotherapy to reverse the process. I just started using it a few days ago. It is FREE and it is in my own bathroom... so, it's not going to hurt me. i also have rheumatoid arthritis.
I have heard that cryotherapy (cold water therapy) helps the immune system and rejuvenates the body. You can look into it on youtube if you feel led to.
