During a crash I still do pacing, I just have to adjust it. I still choose restful fun stuff to do, and have in mind what I'm going to do when I'm up to it.
For example, each day I shower, dress, and then play computer, watch movies and shows, read some. I will comb my long hair while I do these. When I'm up to it I go after food. Maybe right after I dress, maybe later. Then when I'm up to it I start doing laundry. If I'm having a really great day I might finish putting away clothes and the washer and dryer are still going or empty. Then I start grabbing cook books and look for ideas of something to make.
And if I"m crashing, I do pretty much the same. But maybe I have to lay down after my shower. And I may have to lay down during the day or even nap. I might not get around to laundry. If I do, maybe I only put away 1 thing.
Having the same pattern works well. Because if I'm crashing I take longer to think. This way I don't have to thing about it. I know from doing it often that if I'm up to standing up I'm heading for the bathroom, getting water, maybe some food, and if that's all taken care of I ask the question, am I up to dealing with the washer? No, how about the dryer? Still no, how about clean clothes on the drying rack or on my dresser? If it's still no, then that is ok. I'll do more when I can.
Now if I ever get past the food and the laundry I think I'll start throwing more stuff away.....
And yes, I do have crashes where I'm sitting or laying down all day and not up to doing anything that takes more effort. I try to enjoy the activities I do, even if it's just laying there and watching something.
And yes, I do get frustrated and sad that I'm not doing more. But I try really hard to make my restful stuff fun. If I'm feeling better about things the crash doesn't last as long. You know, whole stress can cause crashes too thing.
