Has anyone done a 24 hour cortisol test? I am doing one this week, so I will keep you posted on results. I've done adrenal testing, but never had this test, which is a little more comprehensive.

Ive had the urine 24hr test...came back low normal..my endo doesn't believe in adrenal fatigue so I see my naturopath for that....

I have just completed a one day saliva panel test for my adrenals and cortisol levels.My hormones will be tested with the same samples.I have also done several 24hr urine tests at different times over the years, which always revealed low cortisol levels.I am about to do another one this week.Are you doing yours through blood samples or saliva ?.I am interested in hearing more.

so if the cortisol levels are low, what is one to do? Just curious as to how they address this situation.

I had the test. It was saliva and urine.

I had to do these samples morning, afternoon and evening for three days! The samples went to a lab in California. The testing was ordered by a CFS specialist at the Wellness Center in Pennsylvania where CFS is their specialty!

The results came back that my morning cortisol was in normal range, so was the afternoon reading. The night reading at 11 PM, however, showed overproduction of cortisol at that time. This explains why I cannot sleep. For some reasons, my adrenals wake up at night.

My test was three days, and nine samples. It was conclusive, I'm sure. Also, it just proved what I was telling my doctor. That at night I have the most energy, but my mornings are evil!! NO spunk at all!

I hope you are getting saliva and urine testing. It's the sure thing. Check with the doctor about that. Let us know how your results come back. xo

I am really interested in this. For several years, I have high cortisol level according to the BLOOD test. Then the endocrinologist did a more comprehensive URINE test, and he said the results are OK--that I don't have Cushing's disease.

He also said something about the bonded and unbonded cortisol molecules (that can be measured with the urine test but not the blood test). He said mine were bonded (?), so I am OK. Well, I don't have Cushing's disease. But what about all that talk about the relationship between stress and high cortisol, and how cortisol messes up your system?? So are my bonded cortisol molecules safe for my system???

i have had both tests done (urine) my cortisol levels were very very high . my nutritionist helps me out with supps for it.

I got the test results back. The cortisol was within the "normal" range, but I'm not sure how much information this provides. The 24 hour salvia was out of range.
Hopefully this isn't TMI, but my urine output was really high.. like double the normal amount. I'm thinking this can't be good in terms of electrolytes, etc. and could account for some fatigue. Something I will definitely look into.
