I am not Catholic. But, I find it quite offensive that in almost every horror film , or occult film, or film that deals with religion, they lean toward the catholic religion. They make fun of this religion. Unfortunately, we have to deal with the way the world views a certain religion. I, myself, respect "religions" as a whole. We take offense, express our displeasure, and move on. Being a Christian is not about the negative side. We should not dwell on the negative. We need to move beyond the negative, and talk about Jesus, our savior. I do not announce the fact that I worship at a Baptist church. I emphasize the fact that I am Christian. I am Christian first. I chose a Baptist church only because the people and the Pastor are closest to what I believe. If this where to change, I would look for a new "Church family".

But, that's just me!!!

I understand what you are saying and agree with you. I am just offended by this movie and felt the need to speak up on the bases that I feel it shows the wrong things about something I have learned about first hand. Faith is something to learn and grow in, not something that should be attacked or misrepresented. Thanks for your reply. You are right in what you said.

Unfortunately. the "world" view prevails. We need to make sure OUR opinion is heard. I try my best to voice my voice be heard wherever I can. Who ever will listen. I am not shy when it comes to telling people what the Bible says about something.

SAdly there are Believers who offensively attack other religions, we dont show Christ by tearing down others ever, but by building friendships and trust and living Christ. I like to discuss what we beleive what the other beleives and why, it builds doors of communication. We dont have to accept what they hold as truth. We can be loving and friendly with out compromising our faith.

My aunt and her husband are Mormans. Before someone tears down another person's religion, do they know enough of their own religion? Do they know the Word of God and read it with understanding? Do they produce good fruit - or are they just ready to mouth off dribble? Christ quoted scripture and used simple parables. He touched lepers. He used action to reach people. It was up to them if they listened or not. I agree, if we offend another religion, we close the door of communication.

I made an error. Christ didn't physically touch a leper- they were cleansed by His word.

I always find it so helpful to me and my life that I look upon myself in reflection than to look upon others in judgment. I find doing this brings about more resolutions to my life.

This is how it should be. We should look within. Make sure WE are right with the Lord.

My brother became a Mormon years ago, and although I know many Mormons are excellent people, I don't think they believe Christ is God. That is what concerns me about my brother. I think to be a Christian you would believe that Jesus is 2nd person of the Trinity, not just a prophet.

Judy you are right but inorder to communicate and make an impact we must not be like a plane on a bombing mission, we seek to show Christ, to be Christ's emessary to those who are so misled by darkness. Just to blurt out truth will fall on deaf ears and close any contact we may have. God will create the right time and situation for the sharing of theGospel.
There are many cults who walk under the guise of Christian but are not. Often getting to know what they beleive gives us some ground to start building on.
If you have ever read the biography Peace Child it will have you understand . the offering of a child by one tribe to another brings about a truce, a treaty of Peace. sounds good? well some tribes eat the peace Child ensuring the treaty will never be broken. I is horrific to us, but it gave the missionaries a point to start, They were introduced to Gods Peace Child Jesus. as a result many many of that peolle group are now believers faithful, having abandoned the old ways for the Freedom Christ brings.

We cannot just break old beilefs down with oout an intelligent offering of Christ to replace. A long slow work with some but the reward is great.,

Sadly Mormonism is a cult and a lie. That means however nice, kind and loving the people are not saved. Our duty as Christians is to share the true gospel with these people.

This is difficult with Mormons, because they use the same words and terms. And they do believe Jesus is God, just like his brother Lucifer before he fell. They also believe they are going to be gods one day. Which is pure heresy!

I do no believing in stereotyping people from any religion. And while we respect these people and their dignity, we still need to remember that they are lost, if they don't acknowledge Jesus as existing before the foundation of the world, and the only Lord and Saviour, who died on the cross for our sins.

Yes, I do believe Mormonism is a false religion and Mormons are being lead astray with their eyes wide open. I also believe as Christians, it is our duty to share the true Gospel to all the world, Mormons included.

I have study the Mormon faith to learn about it. I have also talked directly to many of them at their meeting halls ( have one blocks away from where I live ) and Mormon missionaries. I have found them to be very intelligent and very good heart in nature, but impossible to challenge in thought provoking conversations about Christianity. They do use the same words and terminology as Christians do so it can be difficult to have in depth conversations with them on Christianity. However, I still have a few Mormons as friends. I see nothing wrong with that.

I do not believe however, to be insulting or judgmental upon others as this movie ( The Missionary ) seems to portray. How are we going to get others to listen to our words when our words are attacking and insulting? Before I dare to past judgment upon someone else, let me past that verdict upon myself first.

Thank you for sharing. The Lord says that we are to love our enemies. That would rule out any hate group, as coming from The Lord. Many say who The Lord hates, yet He Died for us all. While I believe that we are to be molded by The Word, some sects do mold The Word to fit them. This changes Truth. Truth by definition is unchangeable. When something is difficult to understand, we sadly can look for easy answers, when the right answer is Faith, as some things are beyond our understanding. Some can use that easy way to get followers, but following someone who is lost will cause that follower to be lost. When we Follow The Leader, we never get lost. That takes a personal relationship with Our Leader, and not through someone else, who will have human faults, regardless of who they might be. The Lord Jesus Christ did come in human form, and with all human weaknesses, but He remained Perfect, which is why He Is Our Leader. He says to love our enemies, so we must do that. Love is respect and compassion, even when huge disagreements occur. The Lord went into places thought evil to Preach His Word, because they need The Word too. Our hate can take away The Word from those who need it. Showing them love, is showing our living Testimony In Christ Jesus. It isn't Love without Understanding, as we understand that Our Lord And Savior Jesus Christ Died for us all, because He Loves us all. He did that for those who spit on Him, while being horribly tortured, and being sent to die. Soo we shouldn't hate anyone for just being different.
